Assuming I understand this right, if you complete research on Enhanced Beam Weapons, every ship already built with Maxo Blasters get better Maxos free. Does every tech you complete research on give you these free upgrades on ships/bases that are already built?

1. Yes, you're right about enhanced beam weapons. There is no need to change the design or refit, etc.

2. No, only the technologies which are shown as an Upgrade by the upwards pointing arrow on the item on the technology tree.
