One thing I'd really like to see, at least in WITP if not another patch, is a waypoint movement system. That way if you know where enemy subs are you can have your TF's go around them without every turn having to give your TF a different destination just so it goes aroung the sub-infested waters. I know some people will say this is too much control for a theater commander, but I don't think it is since as a theater commander I would tell most of my TF's, especially routine ones, to go around sub-infested hexes, even if it added a few days to a convoy. So let me know what everyone thinks.

Sorry posted this in the wrong place and can't delete it now, appreciate some help.

Hiya Loader,

I concur, but not only for sub reasons. I notice that when I wish to send ships from Noumea to GG or PM, they run much too close to the north zones before turning west. Me, I'd always send them closer to Australia first, if only for air coverage and general force support.

Just my 2 cents.

There is a way to do this now if you are willing to play one-day turns and keep track of all your TFs. Just set their daily movement within the circle depicting "normal" movement range and you can move them along whatever route you want to their destination.

I prefer this when I am sending a transport TF on a particularly "iffy" invasion. If the big bad guys show up, I have them on a short leash and can abort by hurriedly assigning them to retrograde movement for the next day while my CVs or whomever clear the way, after which they can resume their progress toward the objective.
