Hi

I was wondering if I can standardize all my floatplane types? what I mean is can any CS (or glen-boat) carry any type of floatplane when PDU is ON.

What I'd like is top have just one or 2 aircraft factories produce all my floatplanes (i'm not talking Rufes or Mavis, but single engines like Glens and Petes etc...)

Could my cruisers, BB etc... all carry Jakes (that have longer ranges) ?

Thanks!

Yes, the cruisers and BBs, etc. can all carry Jakes. Most IJ players will swap out the lesser performing varieties (e.g., Petes) for these superior range floatplanes.

Don't think Jakes will fly off of subs, so keep your Glen production going. Besides, the Glens use an antiquated engine type themselves, so use up the pool of engines at game start (>100) to make Glens. In the meantime, you can go ahead and switch the engine factory to something more useful.

The Chickster is correct. Jakes for everything BUT I-Boats. I-Boats must have Glens.

I agree that is what they had it would be gamey to change it ( I think you can and they will fly) . BUT the Seiran would be acceptable as it was built for the later subs - right? I have never got that far into the game.

There are a lot of FP apart from Jakes and they should still be regarded as useful and need to be used up.

Generally CV escorts and fast ships get Jakes or a slight mix ( mainly for scouting) - slow BB, Aux and land bases get what is left and that is mainly for ASW.

I would build about 70 -100 Glen and then convert the factory to Seiran RD for some late war fun. I think the engine it uses may have some later plane - not sure

All FP not in use should be training in ASW and or NS the groups on the CS will need to be removed before they convert.
