Nedrear finally gives you the first static empire... right, these poor people in the WW II kind of Galactic war - I might build another Mod (Full Mod) with more focus on a real backstory - will not expand, as they are conflicted with a national party trying to seize power... like 1936...

Concerning that I will "change" the Republique des Etoiles in the historic version back to a real France and leave the current one in the futuristic backstory version, maybe building new flags etc.

Well here is your GW (WW) II Poland!

Now that I collected material about empire behavior on policies, I will properly employ roleplay features for both versions, the WW II and the Galactic War Sci-Fi story. I plan to put out the Beta for WW II on Christmas, featuring 10 nations. If no bugs or unwanted behavior surfaces afterwards it will be a full release with a small chance of nation updates in the future.

After that I will focus on the Galactic War Full Mod. I am thinking of starting with the second Galactic War too, as shown in the WW II parody scenario above. Therefore I am actively building the main nation of earth instead of the wrong France counterpart. Here's the Republic of Earth national theme.

The Flag is self composed and is therefore my intellectual property. I therefore put a watermark on the full flag in the middle.

Since I got only 9 nations - all reviewed by now - I will offer the readers a choice in the 10th for the WW II release between:

Hungary
Canada
Australia
South Africa
Thailand
Norway
Finland

Whichever is preferred - if any - in 3 hours from now will be implemented. If none is mentioned I will go with Hungary.

I know why the Polish in the race pic are so sad - it's Czwarta Rzeczpospolita Polska ;)
If you translate rzeczpodpolita directly into Polish it might mean : A thing put on fire. Unless of course it was intentional

Finland had an extraordinary military tradition during the Second World War -- they should get lots of generals and GOOD troops.

South Africa -- it only sent one brigade into the war... but it has a really neat post war reputation of resource extraction... and there is even rumors that they helped Israel get the bomb. So... they might be more fun to model in the economic/sales sphere...

Just some thoughts...

Yeah, I'd translate it as simply 'commonwealth'. The intended meaning in polish is very similar to the english meaning. The Fourth Polish Commonwealth sounds way cooler, that's what I'd go with. It is quite awesome to include the original countries names though. You must be putting quite an effort into translating the WWII world into sci-fi. GJ Nedrear.

EDIT: I meant 'Rzeczpodpolita'. Rzecz- thing, podpalita -put on fire (old polish) from podpalić - put on fire. ;)

The problem is, that Agent names are divided by "race family" instead of "race". Therefore I will name them by rank with a random surename. A social facism will know a character as comrade etc.

Christmas Beta has arrived!

Beta Version WW II 0.8.2

Nations: USA, GB, France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Finland, Russia, China, Japan
Own CoA and Flags from 1930+
Race images for all nations
Ideology as race family: Enslave or exterminate communism etc.
A roughly fitting policy concerning ship classes build etc.
A roughly fitting bias concerning relationships of 1930
Futuristic names of empires in their local language
Dialogue file for the "Viertes Reich"

Note: The pictures in the first posts are updated. All are revised!

Last tweaks - if no bugs from players are reported... who plays? - will be the race dialogue files for the last 9 apart the "Viertes Reich" and a starting set of characters fitting their nations. Afterwards it will go into full release as the WW II mod.
The real sci-fi mod comes later and will have changed ressources... polymer for once will be tranferred to oil and the picture changed accordingly. It is made out of oil afterall and happens to be on continental planets.

Can someone upload the English MHTML Helpfolder? I can't edit the Galactopedia easily if I have to look for every little bit left in my local language. I rather edit the English ones directly.

Lead =/= Lead
Aculon => Titan
Chromium => Caesium
Iridium => Molybdenum
Dilithium => Deuterium
Tyderios => Tritium
Polymer => Oil
Caslon => Stardust
Nekros => Yvoa Crystal
Emeros => Helios Crystal
Osalia => Vulcan Crystal
Gold => Aluminium
Argon => Nitrogen / In weapons polymeric nitrogen
Helium => Helium
Krypton => Radon

Gold will become a luxury ressource... Aluminium was a more logical choice as it got a better known property of supramechanics for electricity. Deuterium from deep sea and Tritium from heavy gas planets or ice planets fits further the use in nuclear devices like bombs. It will symbolize the fusion bomb in general. Hydrogen will stay the fuel since it will be breed to be these things directly in the reactor.
Stardust are radioactive partciles which will be densed to a critical mass in the fission reactor of the ships. It should make a fission reactor more realistic than throwing into it some "very common" unknown heavy radioactive gas which no star can produce... at least none which products survive longer than 10ms and are close to us.

I actually got reasons for all... I will write them in the Galactopedia though.

I am working on the characters of the WW II mod - not the full one - and would like to offer people of their respective home countries to give me a list of potential character names. A correct way of pronounciation would be appreciated, especially for the Finish and Polish people.
Well I am sure I will not lack a huge amount of british or american... or german names since I know some and many people here are from there, but I will offer to implement yours anyway... Okay not the germans, they are fixed.

I will personally see to the abilities of the characters. I will not push any side. The amounts of skills is random, the kind of skills is random and the traits are random. These things will be more rare in the mod and a skillful character will be more valuable as they can't be aquired ingame.

So feel free to send me namelists, but tell others in here which one you send. Double inputs would be a waste of time.

To commemorate the rare occasion of a post here, aside my current status, I hereby offer you the new character decals. All of them. I revised all completly, apart of the colony governor where I replaced the planet and gave it a regalia. The backgrounds are not as "spheric" as the originals, but I can not do everything. Nonetheless all got color shadows. The fleet admirals is white and therefore unseen in a .jpg preview.

I still got no applications for character names and am currently playing EU III DW. So the progress might slow down further.
Well I found one or two bugs which by a lack of beta testers I had to find myself. Still feel free to contribute things you feel would fit either mod version or report WW II beta bugs.

The victory condition bugs are known!

Tremendous work here, Nedrear. Sorry about the lack of beta testers for your mod. Would if I could, but I'm nose deep with the Picard era mod. These victory conditions are much harder to iron out than I thought...

Keep plugging away, we'll get there eventually.

Nice mod but I just have to say:
"Vmestezvezdy Korolevstvo"? I am guessing you wanted to use Russian for "Interstellar kingdom" or something like that, but "Vmestezvezdy" means more like "stars in one place" or "stars together". You should use "межзвездной царство" - "Mezhzvezdnoy Carstva" or "Mezhzvezdnowo Korolevstvo".

Just to make sure I got a second source and not just a well versed google fighter: Are you a russian?
I got two helping me with that one...

Vmeste- is a rarely used term in this case, but it carries the idea of the communism and was used in the USSR. As you said it means "Nation of the Communal Stars". Vmeste- is a term carried for the national or group feeling.

Well I am not a native Russian speaker, but I have studied Russian in school for 8 years. I have to admit that I don't have a good grasp on communist terminology from back in the day, so I guess I could be wrong. It just sounds weird to me.
