Having no demo version is in my opinion a mistake.

I like the looks of the game, I read the positive reviews, I've seen a few videos, but none of it is enough to convince me, because:

a) looks don't tell everything
b) I don't always like what others like

When I buy a game, I want to have 3 things covered:

a) I should like the game
b) The price should be right
c) I want to have good support and regular updates

Right now:
a) I don't know if I like it
b) I haven't played the game, so I don't know if the price is right
c) Only time will tell about support and updates, that's why I tend to wait.

Demo for the game is a good idea:

- a small scenario (maybe the first)
- i think almost every serious wargamer will like the game
- cause it has one of the best ai i know
- and it has one of the best usable ui i know

- the only negative point is the lack of scenarios/campaigns - but the developer is working on that...

Yes,  Demo!, Demo!, demo.   I too am on the fence...I actually do not like the look and to me it looks to be lacking the details I appreciate in Operational games.  That said after reading AAR's and reviews, I am not so sure if it lacks detail and it looks like it might be quite good...but I am not sure if it is just a matter of taste.  Now if I had a demo I would be able to quickly make that decision.

Panzer Corp got great reviews, I downloaded the demo...and don't like it.  I would have been very upset if I spent money to find that out :)

Hi guys,

I want us to have a demo too, but the simple option with just removing all but one or two scenarios simply wouldn't work. For one, it would be trivially "upgradable" to a full version (each scenario is like 4kB). Also, the campaign wouldn't work etc etc.

So I need to spend some time and do a proper demo, but my priorities ATM are the hotfix for issues in "Technical Support" and also fixing the scenario tools so that Pieter and Nenad can start working on new content.

Once I get that sorted out, we'll see. For the record, I fully understand players who are cautious with a new developer. It's completely reasonable. We will try to relese that demo reasonably soon and try to convince those still on the fence that this is a game worth supporting.

If you are on the "Fence" and interested in these type of battles, It's a keeper! For the price of a meal out, you can get hours of fun. And also frustration on getting beat up by the AI, if that's your mode of playing

Here's why, obviously to me and I'm thinking a lot of other folks also, we've already seen the videos, read the AARs, and witnessed the reactions of the posters that have purchased and played the game. There seems no doubt this game is a winner.....and for $30...please, a little deductive reasoning dictates the purchase and future support of this new engine.

So, my vote is give us more content, expand and add some flexible features and theaters, without undermining the simplicity of play. That alone will require thought and testing, laborious at least and the sooner the developer(s) are attentive to those parameters the snowball will grow and so will their bank accounts, good for everyone. Word of mouth will carry the torch!

And what's up with the most requested feature of all: undo? Why does that need to take months too? Why don't you just admit that the game is not selling well and not worth your full attention anymore.

A demo would be nice, but it's a great game. The developers deserve to do very well, and I hope to see more from them.

A demo would be nice, but honestly, with all the Youtube stuff, reviews, forums, etc., it just doesn't seem necessary. I'm not saying emphatically that all of you who want a demo are wrong, I'm just saying that in my opinion, it's possible to learn a lot about this game by reading all the info about it. I bought the game after careful consideration, and it turned out to be basically what I expected from my online "research"...I didn't think, "Man, sure wish I had the demo of this, I would have known more about it"...

True, reading about a game is not the same as actually playing it, but I still think in this case you can get by without the demo for the reasons stated by myself and others...either way, having a demo is always nice. And yeah, I totally understand why companies don't do demos...although you may get a couple more sales out of it, you might lose a bunch as well...

All that being said, as far as this game is concerned, in my opinion, it is absolutely worth $30...if you buy this thinking you're getting War in the East, or on the other side, Risk, then you deserve to lose your money. Read about it, see how it plays, then make the decision.
