This thread will document the truth of the matter between the epic struggle between Q-Ball, lording over the Bolshevik Hordes like some Mongolian Warlord, and myself, leading the brave forces of the Anti-Comintern Pact.

As this game has already been played out through my turn 7, and my erstwhile opponent has already started his thread of lies, propaganda, and deviant excuses, of which I'm not privy, could some dear reader please let me know how many turns he has posted, so that I can catch up to him? Many thanks in advance.

In order to set the stage, and explain - somewhat - the name of the thread, here is the picture you might keep in mind, when thinking about how this game will proceed. Bonus internet points for those who can name all the literary allusions...

Having been a big fan of Q-Ball's AARs, I jumped at the chance to play a game against him. Even though we're both a little overcommitted at this time in terms of games, we decided to pick up a casually paced game. It 's not often that you get a good opponent, who wants to play with random weather, and is okay with exposing all their foibles publically in AARs to be dissected by all the other experts.

Anyhow, my game is opening up with a bit of the tried and true, and a little bit o' something else. In other words, I'm making it up as I go along, and using a bunch of BS to cover my tracks, pretending like I know what I'm doing.

Here is the picture of the Southern part of the map, at the end of my first turn.

Finally, the losses for the first turn. I didn't bother adding the OOB shot to the collage, but will do so for later turns.

This should be a terrific AAR and I look forward to reading both accounts.

James, he has shown up to turn 6 as a FYI.

Hehehe. In my world, he's Katyusha, and I'm the Monkey. There are several other layers to the picture, but those will do for now...

Turn 2. The pursuit phase. Except here in the far south, where the Rumanians couldn't catch themselves, if they were standing still...

The last couple of months have been hell on my WitE gaming time. Betweeen work, family, holidays and Skyrim, I've hardly had time to play, let alone keep up on AARs. For the next few weeks, I'll be trying to catch up on my games, and updating long neglected AARs. This game between Q-Ball and myself is at his turn 14, so the thread will be updated over the next couple of days, as I find time to pull some old screenshots and put together some commentary. Q-Ball's thread is on page three, so if someone can peek in and see what turn he's posted up to, and let me know here, I'd appreciate it. Klydon had mentioned it was up to turn 6, so if he's gone beyond that, please let me know.

This is from my turn 3, in the north.

This shot shows the Center. Note that I play on any of three different computers, and write AARs as I get the free time, so screenshot size and quality will vary accordingly.

I haven't bothered posting anything having to do with the Finns, as Q-Ball has decided to fight against them, and delay their drive on the Svir. Since I intend on barreling through with the Germans to take Leningrad, and not try any fancy meet up with them, I am content to slowly advance in this area and preserve their strength. Besides, supply trace is terrible up there, at least until Leningrad falls and the Axis can sent an FBD up to connect the rail lines.
