Hi there, tried to post this on the Tech Support sub-forum, but it got deleted without any notification to me, so I suppose I posted it on the wrong forum then. So I'm trying to repost it now. Anyway, War in the Pacific: Admiral's Edition is running beautiful on my Ubuntu Linux (actually runs better than in Windows 7, seeing as though I cannot get widescreen support to work in Windows 7, while in Ubuntu it works!) Anyway, for you Linux users, this is how I got the game up and running: Using Ubuntu 11.10 x64 and PlayOnLinux with Wine version 1.3.37(x86) In PlayOnLinux install the following packages: wmp9 wmpcodecs directmusic dsound devenum quartz msxml4 mfc42 msasn1 ffdshow vcrun2008 To get fullscreen support, edit the Witp:AE shortcut-file in /home/username/.PlayOnLinux/shortcuts/ and add the -px -py parameters after "War in the Pacific Admiral Edition.exe" so that it reads (as in my case): POL_Wine "War in the Pacific Admiral Edition.exe" -px1280 -py800 $@ That's it. I've submitted a report to WineApp database to rerate the game to 'gold' and I'm submitting a report to PlayOnLinux to have the game in their database. EDIT3: All right, after having played around a bit, I've found one error in the game running on Linux, and that is that the 'esc' key will not close database, ops report or combat reprts, so you have to click on 'exit' with your mouse instead. Also, game loading is slow, after clicking on the desktop icon, it takes a while before the game launches and then the loading stalls for quite some time at around ~80%. Once the game has started though, I've seen no major speed difference from Windows, with the exception that manual saving is sluggish and laggish. Auto saving is fast though
