New Shipset+Light & Laser & Engine Effects+Ship names

As you see on the image engine, lights and laser have got gloom effect. Ships have got gloom effect+shadow, so when ships will be one on another you will be able to see the contrast between them.



By the way on this image I have used:

Conflictx New Shield Effect
Jon Micheelsen ExplosionsV12

Some ship names:

Thor, Preacher, Narwhal, Vivisector, Fearless, Vali, Skiron... etc.

Installation instructions:

1.Extract .zip file to Distant Worlds folder.
2.Go to Distant Worlds\Shipset\images\units\ships, change the ship folder name from (family9a/family9b)
to (familyx) where x is the number of the family you want to be replaced.
3.Start the game, change the theme from the main manu to 'Shipset'.
4.Start new game and enjoy new look of real battle.

Looking nice, I especially like the engines effect. Really high quality artwork

Just as a nitpick you don't have to replace any existing family, the limit for the number of shipsets has been removed in Legends.

A very nice piece of work. I really like your space stations a lot. The other ships are neat too...

Press 'D' or 'T' during gameplay, one should get rid of triangulars and the other parts of HUD.

These effects are AMAZING.. The best so far no doubt. You really should zip them up independent of the shipset :)

The gloom effects are great they should include them in the vanilla.

The explosions and that shield effect someone replied here with, as well, frankly.
Never thought DW could look like this. Why the vanilla beam effects aren't glowy seems like an odd decision in retrospect, since the engine obviously handles transparency with no issues.

Did they change the file structures with a recent patch or something? In order to get the ship images to work i needed to change a file name and change the file structure around. As for the effects, I couldn't get them to work without just replacing the vanilla effects with them.

I agree! Amazing mod! Is there any chance you release these independent of each other? Trying to figure out atm how to use it with Legends and only use the effects.

Dumb question. For the effects and gloom when ships are on top of each other... does that work for ALL ships in the game, or just the new one in this mod?

Why is there a 9a and 9b? folder? I can't seem to tell the difference in the ships between them.
