Hello,

I am playing a solitaire Ironman scenario in its late stages. I am playing the Ironman scenario on a file that I recently upgraded to the new stable release version 1108.r9. The upgrade seemed to work fine for several turns so I don't really know if that is part of the problem.

The game is in January 46. I have already technically won the game (an unsatisfying marginal victory on 1 April '45) but wanted to keep going to see what the historical late war acted like and to play with some of units that never arrived in time on both sides. The crash is happening just after the AM air phase.

Any advice on this matter would be appreciated. If inecessary I can go back about a week in game time to a saved game and downgrade my installation to the earlier version. Thanks in advance.

Scot

P.S. Does anyone know if the weather over Japan ever breaks into Partial Cloudy or Clear? After two disastrous B-29 raids, two ineffective carrier raids, and one naval bombardment on Japan, I have been waiting for such a break to start a full fledged escorted daylight bombing campaign. I am kind of role-playing the situation here: waiting for a break in the weather to launch escorted strategic bomber attacks, doing BDA, and then justifiying to myself whether it is time to convert to LeMay style night tactics coupled with A-bomb attacks. The plan to myself was to gear up to deliver an alpha strike on the home islands and then assess whether Japan would surrender at that point.

In the PS part of my message above, I am of course asking whether the weather forecast over Japan is every clear or partial clouds.

Not sure about atom bombs in Ironman but in the regular they were, to be generous, underwhelming in effect. As to weather, it's going to be on the bad end of the spectrum all over the map, it's rare that you'll have good weather anywhere on the map though you will have raids go & bomb targets

Can you attach a zipped save here please.
It may be same issue I have seen recently where a search radar is being used in the Air Search phase, but has an effect rating of '0' which causing a divide by zero error.

Yes. It is a bug. An error in one of the messages to be reported during the air search phase.
It looks like you just hit the wrong combination of values to get it - it has been there for sometime.

My search plane must have collided with a ship!

Can you determine which value is probably triggering this bug?

If there is a parameter that I can change, or a mission that I can cancel, then I might be able to continue with the campaign, even without a code fix for the bug.

Regardless of what you can suggest, thank you for your assistance.

The target ship is SS Brill. So trying to get it out of the way might help.

Redirecting SS Brill temporarily solved the problem (until it is fixed in some future patch). I can continue with the campaign.

Thanks!

Similar problem here.

Game crashes just after AM air phase is starting.
Save is under r9
