Yep, Max I agree, but I'm no expert on this stuff and have no idea how these changes affect the overall flow and balance of the game. I always felt armor and mechanized units should always be allowed to withdraw, but what the heck do I know, not much.

Equidistant from the enemy into the terrain requiring the least MPs to enter or into the terrain that provides the best cover? I feel both ways unfortunately. I see a D4 unit as both:

1. a group of guys running for cover ASAP or possibly,

2. a group of guys running any which way as long as they just get the hell out of where they are now!

As a player you can choose either of the above - there's a lot more hexes to choose from as the destination hex. I assume the AI logic for deciding on final withdrawal location will remain as is.

Cheers

I have two testers giving things a good look...if they are happy with the withdraw status, we are a go.

Should be very soon.

Hopefully not too long

Things are progressing ... Michael has had a good go at the withdrawal code I'll finish off having a look tonight and get back to Tim/Michael. Not sure how long it takes to move through the Matrix machinery.

Cheers

I mainly wanted to remove the "Brush Off" title of thread since that is not true and I'm the one who put it there.

So "Things are looking up!" is the new title.

PJ, thanks. Really looking forward to diving back in.

Not quite there yet. PirateJock and Joe have taken a look but we do still have some work to do. Michael is checking based on the great saved games and examples PirateJock passed on.

Tim

Thanks for the update, much prefer to have something soonish and right rather than now and not.

I think I'll have to change Forgotten to Expectant in my signature (now if I can only figure out how I saved my new signature in the first place)

Yep, and maybe we can start our PBEM game over again, since I'm losing anyway.

Quick update - things are progressing. Michael has made some more changes to the code following feedback from Joe and myself. Currently, units will withdraw as expected as long as their route is not blocked by an enemy unit or its ZoC. If the route is blocked they take a hit; rather than just sit there at Disruption 4.

We've some more testing to do. Don't have any timelines currently as needs to fit in with real life - mine and the others. Just letting you know things are moving and, as soon as I know anything further, I'll post :)

Cheers

(almost near the 1000, although I fear the patch will be released before I get there)

Thanks for following through with this, guys. It's probably the only flaw in this good game so far.

The testing of the patch is coming along nicely.

As well as withdrawl a number of fixes have been included.

We have questioned a few things and once those have been answered/clarified we are ready to go!

Write down the answers so that they can be included in the manual.

Thanks for your time and effort in getting this done.

Just dropping in with an update...Joe and Pirate have been fantastic!

Not done yet, but they are giving great feedback and Michael is knocking out changes/fixes.

I don't want to commit to a date just yet but I will get with Michael after this coming weekend and see where we stand.

Looking forward to the patch, and a big thank you to you and Michael.

PJ and Joe, you guys are the best. I'm looking forward to being soundly trounced when by both of you when we get the patch.
