31 MAY 42

BURMA
Quiet on ground. Lots of action in air

Japanese bombers attack Akyab destroying 2 planes on ground. In return Allied bombers attack Rangoon destroying on ground 9 bombers.
I forgot to left some CAP and medium bomber where unescorted.
Allies attack also empty AF in Chiang Mai and troops NE of Prome

Lashio have now 1000AV force and almost no supplies

MKB
Leave Soerabaja last turn and is sailing south toward NW coast of OZ.
Mission: Intercept any attempts to send reinforcements to Darwin.

KB1
In Soerabaja. Refueled and rearmed. Tomorrow will sail back to Ambon.
Mission: intercept any attempts to send reinforcements or supplies to Ambon

KB2
2 days from HI, will start refit of 2 CVs and 5 DDs.

Timor/Ambon
Quiet. Bad weather no flights

China
Night attack on Hankow. I lost 1 bomber on ground.
In Changsha 100 fighters and 50 bombers. Air attack suspected. Target unknown.
Japanese planes stay on ground. Bad weather above target.

Kukong: decided to not attack.
I taking 2000AV to march north and cut retreating Chinese forces. They must move through woods i will have main road so they will not run.

R&D
From today building 120/month Ki-49IIa. I hope that all Sentai will using them in Burma by end of month.
I will also build 40 Ki-21 for some time to use in china. Later i will decide to stop or not stop production.

A6M3 available. But i will not build that model. All A6M2 factories converted. They are now reseted and need repairs.
I have 120 factories(I had over expanded M2 and after conversion 120 left) . By end of month 90 should be repaired. And will start production of A6M3a
Tactical reserve of M2 - 85 planes in pool

A6M3a advanced to 9/42

Subs
Lots of action but no bum.
Good news is that my ASW air patrols around HI are finding and attacking enemy subs. Hit reported.
Also they rising DL and my ASW sea patrols reacting but without success.

Of topic

I just ordered "Eugene Sledge - With the Old Breed" can wait when mail arrive

Also in next month i will probably buy "Shattered Sword" sadly only English edition is available so i will also order dictionary

Supplies movement.

Docup sent huge army to north Burma. I think he can have there equivalent of 2 maybe 3 ID.
(Australian ID confirmed)

How looks supply transport through jungle? In some topic i read that they are moving in some that they not.

One thing is sure. To feed so many troops he need lots of supplies. It will be good chance to lower morale of those troops before monsoon ends. In days i will start bombing allied bases in north Burma trying to destroy as many as passable of supplies there. Also closing those AF stop air supply transport.
I am sure that he transporting supplies from India. I only do not know where, Burma or China.
Almost every turn he losing by ops C-47.

Right now supplies holding me also, as i am not able to use drop tanks, and fighters cant give escort to bombers, but in 5 days 100k supplies will land in Rangoon

2-3 June 42

Burma
On 2 June Oscars ordered to LCAP over LCU near Prome ware engaged by allied fighters.
I have lost 13 own to 8 allied planes.
Heavy bomber raid attack Allied troops in Shwebo destroying 40 and disabling 50 squads.
It looks like one of units in hex was wiped out.

On 3 June nigh attack of B-17 in Rangoon. One Ki-21 destroyed on ground and one Oscars shot down by B-17 defensive fire.
Japanese bombers attack Katha AF. They fly unescorted and was engaged by 3 enemy fighters. 7 bombers lost in action.

I have 2 ID East of Lashio they marching north. I will try to push back allies in Burma as far north as passable..

I have lost Mandalay today by base auto switch. Recon units will recpture it tomarow. I need that base to have rail to Lashio open.

Supply situation is stabilizing in Burma. They slowly moving by roads from Indochina and tomorrow 100k will arrive to Rangoon by sea.

Java
Two BB waiting to replenish 36cm ammo. Port lvl 7, supplies 13k and they do not doing that. Whay?

Timor, Ambon
ASW TF sunk allied Sub in Kendari shallow waters. Those new DC are far more better than old version.

MKB
I give orders to move deeper in Indian Ocean but they refuse and stay on position from last turn Strange, they do not move single hex. On 2 June he sunk 2 xAK in Exmouth hex.

KB1
Undetected NW from Ambon. I think KB need to sail to Salomon Sea for some time

KB2
1 day from HI

China
Standard bombing mission to Kukong. Every day i am killing 200 enemy soldiers. Chinese troops arrive to hex north of city. ID is marching to push them north again and close supply path.
As i predicted allies send bombers to attack Hankow. Day earlier i have evacuated all bombers to safe AFs.
but i lost 10 planes on ground. Mostly recon.
Japanese fighters sweep Changsa shotting down 17 fighters for 9 own.

Air situation.
In first three days of June i have lost 70 planes to 45 allied planes. Lack of good Interceptor is also problem. I have decided to not Cap in china. Docup sweeping with P-38 and they will eat my K-43 for breakfast. When i have last time try to CAP vs P-38 i lost 24 planes to 1 P-38. Elite pilots and good planes in making them invincible. Until Tojo arrive i will chose my battles.

Industry, Ship building, R&D, etc.

Navy shipyards are working on full accelerating, all available ships. Different situation is in Merchant shipyard as i only building TKs and CVEs.
I have also lots of plane and engine factories with stopped production(pool is full or waiting to upgrade until production will be restarted). This allowing me to gain 6k+ HI every turn.

HI 382k
Armament 35k
Vehicles 14k
Fuel total (Japan) 3,09M (2,22M)
Oil total (Japan) 2,57M (1,82M)

New orders from Tokyo: Regroup all air squadron in china to safe AF`s. Pilots given one weak vacation. It is time to rebuilt morale.

Kukong
Another hex side closed to Chinese forces. Only SE hex side is in Chinese hands. I will try to close siege asap. if i manage to do that i will close 100k chines troops in city

Burma

Japanese air attack on British troops north of Prome. Flak is to powerful. 4 Ki-21 lost 8 damaged. Tomorrow first sentai will upgrade to Ki-49IIa. That will make flak survivability better.

Allied bombers attack my tanks near Lashio. But they miss.

Ambon

Allied FT TF spotted in Ambon hex. They pay high price for that visit.

First at nigh they find two offensive mines.
TF 23 encounters mine field at Ambon (76,109)

Allied Ships
APD Rathburne, Mine hits 1, on fire
APD Lawrence, Mine hits 1, on fire, heavy damage

Later on afternoon

Afternoon Air attack on TF, near Ambon at 76,109

Bad news they deliver at lest 1,5k of supplies to Ambon

Sub actions
US sub hit xAK near Ominato. Ship will survive
US DD make few holes in RO-33 near Sydney. Sub will survive but will be out of action for long time.

Maybe if he is going to try these kinds of re-supply ops you should hold onto Ambon for a while!

You don't need that base to finish off the DEI if you have control of the air. It will starve eventually, and if more ships come to help out, so much the better.

I will land in Saumalaki. As i know island is not heavy defended but i have no units prep for it so i will need pay for that on beach with blood.
I will also soon start moving to Lantem from Dili but need to wait for reinforcements. When those 2 basses will be in my hands i will have full air domination. Only treat will be from B-17 raids.

Biggest risk is if Docup bring US CV to action, before i will land or he reinforce those bases. I give 50/50 chance for it. I have now only MKB in area so o hope he decide not. To prevent it i have few surprises for him. But we will see.

They are going to be bloody weeks.

I think firs sing of Allied move in region will be a B-17 air offensive to close AF. So if i see that i will bring all my forces to full alert. Right now they are rsting in Soerabaja and Truk

Burma

Lot of sweeps but on opposition above targets

Hawaii
SS I-21 score two torpedo hits to enemy CA. Tomorrow 4 subs will try to find crippled cruiser (if he survive)

Sub attack near Kona at 179,115

Japanese Ships
SS I-21

Allied Ships
CA Salt Lake City, Torpedo hits 2, on fire, heavy damage
CA Portland
DD Helm
DD Bagley
DD Hull
DD Mugford

Right now two enemy TFs in hex. Probably one of is Salt Lake City with DD escort

China
First, bad news.
Air raid over Kukong and hex south of city engaged by allied LCAP. Most of fighters stay on ground and only 9 Oscars fly as escort. Result 8 Oscars and 3 Ki-21 shot down for 2 enemy fighters. (5 pilots KIA)

Now better news.
21 ID make another step forward closing siege of Kukong by slaughtering enemy units south of City. After battle they retreat toward Kweilin. I will fallow and finish with them.

Ground combat at 78,58 (near Canton)

Japanese Deliberate attack

Attacking force 11917 troops, 102 guns, 32 vehicles, Assault Value = 444

Defending force 5699 troops, 80 guns, 0 vehicles, Assault Value = 74

Japanese adjusted assault: 388

Allied adjusted defense: 16

Japanese assault odds: 24 to 1

Combat modifiers
Defender: disruption(-), experience(-), supply(-)
Attacker:

Japanese ground losses:
81 casualties reported
Squads: 1 destroyed, 6 disabled
Non Combat: 0 destroyed, 0 disabled
Engineers: 0 destroyed, 1 disabled

Allied ground losses:
2083 casualties reported
Squads: 99 destroyed, 0 disabled
Non Combat: 99 destroyed, 3 disabled
Engineers: 3 destroyed, 10 disabled
Guns lost 11 (11 destroyed, 0 disabled)

Units retreated 3

Defeated Allied Units Retreating!

Assaulting units:
21st Division

Defending units:
49th Chinese Corps
88th Chinese Corps
12th Group Army

And best one news.
Lower you see map with current Kukong situation.
In two days Units south of City will enter wooden hex. It is last hex where Chinese troops can move. . I everything go as planed in 10 days Kukong will be blocked and i will move most of troops to another target. In Kukong i will leave only minimal garrison to hold siege and lot of Art units.

Turn send. Mostly standard orders. FT TF supported by BB will sail today to Kendari and will start transporting supply and troops to Ambon.

I have converted 12 xAK to TKs. They will be ready in 15 days.
They are capable to 10kn only but they are also perfect to transport oil from small basses in DEI to supply hubs like Manila where oil cam be loaded on big TKs

And most important. Eugene Sledge "With the Old Breed" just arrive

8 June 42

Burma
Shwebo captured. But in return Allied bombers attack unit that capture base. Heavy losses taken I will now run to woods.

Ambon
Japanese navy bombers attack Ambon port. Primary mission was to end with APDs anchored there

Morning Air attack on Ambon , at 76,109

Weather in hex: Heavy rain

Raid detected at 39 NM, estimated altitude 9,000 feet.
Estimated time to target is 13 minutes

Japanese aircraft
A6M2 Zero x 44
G3M2 Nell x 30
G4M1 Betty x 24

Japanese aircraft losses
G3M2 Nell: 1 damaged

Allied Ships
APD Lawrence, Bomb hits 6, heavy fires, heavy damage
APD Humphreys, Bomb hits 2, and is sunk
APD Waters, Bomb hits 1, heavy fires, heavy damage

Port hits 16
Port supply hits 1

All three ships probably sunk as intel in not showing any ships in port and all ships where arledy damaged from torpedo and mine hits two days earlier

Saumlaki
45 fighters and 20 bombers spotted. More interesting is base port. 7 ships(3xCL), wonder how accurate that intel can be.
I thinking about attack on port tomorrow. I am able to sent 150 fighters so i probably will attack. Saumlaki AF still is lvl 1 so it is good.

Lautem
30 enemy fighters in base

Coral Sea
Japanese bombers from Port Moresby and Lae attack allied shipping north of Cooktown and in Terapo.
Probably sinking one xAKL and heavy damaging another.

Sub actions
Active day for subs. Total 18 different sub actions.
Most important:
SS Flying Fish sunk xAKL near Sapporo and SS I-169 sunk AKE Mormacland near Hilo

Burma
Troops marching north. Allies moving south. I some point we need to meet.
Allies bombing Shwebo. My reckon unit there is in mess

Ambon Battle
Today A6M2s from Kendari sweep Lautem and Saumlaki.
In total they shoot down 26 allied fighters (16 P40E and 10 Kittyhawk IA)
Japan lost 16 A6M2 but only 7 in A2A and 9 from ops. (5 pilots KIA)

As main problem for japan are pilots and for allies airframes 5 pilots for 26 planes is good trade.

Sadly Saumalki port raid do not fly because of whether

A6M2 poll is now 61 planes. I am not building zeros right now. Three factories are repairing after they ware changed to M3 version. I will start producing Zeros in 21 days when M3a will be available.

Tahiti
SS I-2 sunk two allies xAK near Tahiti base. No ASW units there

China
Kukong totally surrounded. 98.000 Chinise troops in City.

R&D
A6M3a advanced to 8/42 in nine days he will advance to 7/42

Next model M5, will be available in 11/42 that model will be main carrier based plane for entire `43. M5c will arrive in 12/43. I will not research M8 model.

Kendari
Only one action worth of story.
Probably biggest A2A battle - fighters vs heavies so far. It is prelude of future struggle.

Morning Air attack on Kendari , at 70,106

Weather in hex: Light rain

Raid detected at 40 NM, estimated altitude 11,000 feet.
Estimated time to target is 12 minutes

Japanese aircraft
A6M2 Zero x 71

Allied aircraft
B-17E Fortress x 58
LB-30 Liberator x 9

Japanese aircraft losses
A6M2 Zero: 5 destroyed, 28 damaged
A6M2 Zero: 12 destroyed on ground
G3M2 Nell: 5 destroyed on ground
G4M1 Betty: 10 destroyed on ground
Ki-46-II Dinah: 1 destroyed on ground

Allied aircraft losses
B-17E Fortress: 3 destroyed, 17 damaged
LB-30 Liberator: 1 destroyed, 4 damaged

Japanese ground losses:
6 casualties reported
Squads: 0 destroyed, 0 disabled
Non Combat: 0 destroyed, 1 disabled
Engineers: 0 destroyed, 0 disabled

Airbase hits 11
Airbase supply hits 5
Runway hits 31

Planes loses are big. But most of them are on ground. Only 9 A6M shot down and only 3 pilots KIA today.
This raid cost allies 16 heavies (23% losses). A can live with ground loses but not for long(at lest until M3a will be in production in 3 weeks).
It was mistake to leave bombers in base. Bombers will be replaced in days, fighters also.
A6M2 pool drop to 46 planes. I think i will build ~40 M3 to free some M2 to pool.

Kendari still open but i need to rebuild air force first.

Kukong

I am moving troops to Kukong from wooden hex SW. I want them to move directly to City.
On map "dot" is showing that they are marching using road but when i go inside units it is still showing Target Kukong 46 miles to target(they march 30 miles in one day)

How to force unit to march directly to Kukong and not using road?

EDIT: Hex is SW

Planes loses are big. But most of them are on ground. Only 9 A6M shot down and only 3 pilots KIA today.
This raid cost allies 16 heavies (23% losses). A can live with ground loses but not for long(at lest until M3a will be in production in 3 weeks).
It was mistake to leave bombers in base. Bombers will be replaced in days, fighters also.
A6M2 pool drop to 46 planes. I think i will build ~40 M3 to free some M2 to pool.

How to force unit to march directly to Kukong and not using road?

Tough losses for you, but the Allies can't sustain this kind of raid very often (losing 16 4Es) at this point in the war.

At this point of war allies should have at lest ~100-120 B-17E in service. As we playing PDU ON Docuop should be able to save some planes from withdrawal by upgrading some B17E groups scheduled to withdrawal to different plane. So far he loose 40 B-17E and 44 "D".

But you are right. Today he lost almost 1 month of 4E production.
For me i can toke that loses as my plane production is OK and i accelerating it slowly targeting 2k planes/month on end of year(i talking about factories ability not real production as i not want overproduce)

Another side of this is that he have almost all heavies in north Oz and in Burma he is limited to medium bombers only and in china a see only 10 bombers maybe.
And after AVG was withdrawal last week i do not see many fighters in Burma so it is time to be more aggressive.

And about air losses so far. Comparing to other AARs i am reading i think we are in upper range. I have lost 2,2k planes to 2k allied loses.

I red some AAR with bigger loses but most have smaller.

For anyone experiencing not planed march direction changes by LCU. I found passable solution for that in one of forum threats.

If you want to LCU march directly to target instead of auto choosing longer but faster path by road. Units must be set to combat mode and all move orders must be given separately to all units. Today i will try this.

On morning unit i set to march direct to Kukong move only 15 miles so it is good as it suppose to move by forest and not by road. Dot was showing move to E but after manual change it return to NE without reseting traveled distance. In three days we will know if i will be able to close siege.

Burma
Japanese air force sweeps few allied bases but no opposition found
Bombers attack Paoshan closing local AF and scoring 89 AF hits and 10 supplies hits.
Secont bomber raid attack Katha but result was disapinting.

At night B-17D attack Rangoon destroying 1 plane on ground.
After last patch night attack looks realistic as they are almost allweys broken in few small waves.

Land units arrive to Bhamo last days . Bombardment showing 84th Indian Brigade and base force. (141AV) I have now ID and 3 tank regiments i will wait two days for two more brigades and for supplies until i will attack. This force is fallowed by by another ID and brigade but they are week behind. Another ID will arrive to Lashio in 5 days and will march truth jungle to north to push allied troops from junge hex south of Katha

Ambon Battle
After last day losses squadrons are retreating to Soerabaja to rest and take replacements.
Fighters squadrons are in full strength now, but will rest to build morale before return to fight.
Bombers need few days.
I have upgraded one of G4M1 squadrons in Rabaul to G3M3 to free G4M to poll and allow them to be use by Soerabaja squadrons

S-164 have lucky day. HE was in middle of trip to patrol area near Horn Isl. when he find allied TF near Lautem (Timor)
Sub attack near Lautem at 74,114

Japanese Ships
SS I-164

Allied Ships
CL Hobart, Torpedo hits 1, on fire, heavy damage
DD Inconstant

Severe damage reported. Cruiser is on sunk list but probably he still floating as there was no sinking sound. I have 3 subs in range, they will try to find him.

Japanese DD sunk allied minesweeper in Ambon Hex. He try to clean my mine filed.
Another minesweeper in cleaning Lautem hex from mines. I have DD close. Tomorrow i will engage.

On morning Allied Heavies attack Kendari again. This time in half of force compeering to last day.
I lost one plane on ground almost no damage to AF.

Japanese troops in Ambon healing fast and now they have 1000 AV. Fast transport TF will arrive to Kendari in 2 days.

Coral Sea
Allied transport TF leave Noumea last night. TF is sailing north. Lots of xAP spotted. No combat ships in TF. Where they sailing, Luganville. Planes and small surface raid are preparing no engage.

14 ID evacuated from Port Moresby and sailing to Lunga.

Hawaii
After 4 days of hunting we find CA Salt Lake City. He move only 4 hexes in 4 days so damage from first attack must be huge

Sub attack near Kona at 181,113

Japanese Ships
SS I-175

Allied Ships
CA Salt Lake City, Torpedo hits 1, heavy damage
DD Hull

This time cruiser sunk. Sinking sound and FP marked on list as destroyed on ground.

China
Chinese troops moving from Changsha area south toward Kukong.
Bombers attack them today killing 400 soldiers and disabling 70 squads.

I lost 12 planes in that attack. I sweep hex first and later bombers escorted by fighters arrive(no oposition to that point). Unlucky third wave was intercepted by fighters diverted from CAP. At lest i know Docup is CAPing Changsha

Details later.
Right now only important things.

Two British carriers surprised by DD in surface battle near Saumlaki. That information will cost me DD as he took two direct hits from heavy guns from CA. He is death in water. His damage points are 72/89/78/99

Naval battle in Kendari hex. Japanese BB with 20 DD (they loading supplies to FT them to Ambon)) was surprised by US cruisers. I lost 3 DDs, some damage to ailed ships but must see battle animation again.

EDIT: (after watching again CA San Francisco take 2x36cm hits both penetrate and one give critical damage)

Time to launch secret weapon.

Burma
Ki-49IIa lost combat virginity today. Unlucky one crash on AF during landing.
Armor help as all planes are serviceable after taking heavy flak fire.

100 fighters will fly south to join Ambon battle.

China
Finally ID is marching directly to Kukong trough forest and not by longer path using road.
In week he will enter Kukong and close last hexside.

Lots of movement in Changsha area. Chine troops moving south toward Kukong. I will leave only 3 ID in Kukong. 4 ID + 2 brigades will march north and take defensive position 90 miles north of city in rough terrain hex. I do not think that chines army have ability for offensive. Lack of supplies and all my troops are behind forts will not help them.

Chines troops in Nanyang start to move SW. Numbers unknown but there is at lest 150k troops. I will watch closely. But i think it is attemp to spread my forces to weaken Kukong area.

In Kukong 96k Chines soldier waiting for death. Every day they loosing 10-15 AV and 150 man

I rebasing 45 Oscars to Ambon area. I will need them there. In China i will have now 60 vs 140 allied fighters.

Coral Sea
Enemy TF spotted day earlier by sub arrive to Luganville. They where attacked by G3M3s from Lunga but CAP shot down 11.
Reckon showing in Luganville xAP, CL, CA and some smaller ships.

Also heavy radio transmission detected E of New Hebrides. Sub, allied CVs, ghost?

ID sailing to Lunga diverted back to Rabaul. Very big probability of allied offensive moves in this area.
I cat do nothing about it is as my main naval force is around Ambon.

Ndeni has only 1000 troops. Lunga 100AV behind 3 fort. I need to transport that ID there asap.

Ambon Battle
I was loading FT TF in Kendari when Allied Cruisers arrive. After long battle I lost 3 DD, two more take moderate damage.
Allied loses unknown but one DD should be heavy damage and CA San Francisco take 2x36cm hits and 3 medium caliber hits.
Near Saumlaki Japanese DD engage CV TF. He pay for that action by his live.

It look like we start second part of that battle. I will be ready in two days to engage them.
Unlucky i just end loading ID on ships in Soerabaja. Those troop where ordered to land in Saumlaki. With allied CVs in area invasion canceled.

So far i know about two British CV, 5 CA, CL, and some DD. (location of US CV unknown - probably south Pacific)

I have 250+ LBA (110 navy fighters, 130 navy bombers). 150 Army fighters will arrive in 3 days.
They will use two bases, Kendari and Makassar. Both are Lvl 4 AF, have Air HQ and are able to supply torpedoes.
On sea I have 4BB, 8CA, 5CL, ~45DD and most important in range on 1 day I have 5 big CVs with 260 planes on deck.
I will use them when i will be sure of success as KB is one shot weapon.
In Soerabaja i have MKB but i will not use them as offensive power as i cant give them proper fighter support. Probably i will use TB from MKB as LBA.(Someone will call that gamey but i call that war and most of those Sentai are originally LBA).

Plan is, wait for now for allied moves. If he decide to reinforce Ambon i will strike him with full power. Most important for me will be to stay in LBA range with KB.

Last day cost me 4DD. I is big lose but only by my fault, as i send my ships when air search was crippled after 10 jun air loses.
Now i am ready and Docup lost element of surprise.

My Intel is telling me that Allies are in middle of operation called "Operation Dumbo". But none details are known.
One of intel officers told me that Americans learning elephants to fly and doing poo on Japanese AF. No one will want to clean that.

Bag of rice and bottle of sake for anyone with good advice
I will give maps when return home

Only one air action today. 18 B-17 attack Kendari AF. 3 planes destroyed on ground. Damage to AF 47/32

Two allied TF spotted between Ambon and Saumlaki. One is showing 3DD+unknow ship, second TK, CL, BB, CLAA and 4 more ships. DL is "TF spotted".

It is time to decide what to do. Wait one more day to be sure about enemy force or strike tomorrow. I do not want waste my first strike on few cargo ships. I hope Docup is thinking that my air force is suppressed after last Kendari bombardment and i do not want open all card and waste surprise element. Still have few hours to make decision. If i want i can have 500 planes flying tomorrow in two days it will be 600.

Lots of sub actions. My subs get hammered today. 3 need return home for repairs. Two can stay on patrol but system damages are around 20.

DD Shigure sunk after last day encounter with CV screen. That is fourth victim of last day surface actions.

Six A6M3a R&D factories converted to A6M5 model. Five still researching M3a.

Another day another soldiers die.

Burma
Air attack on Katha AF. Some damage to AF but most important supply hits confirmed.
23 P-38E sweep Rangoon but no opposition in air.

Ground forces capture Bhamo (dot base).
Ground combat at Bhamo (63,44)

Japanese Deliberate attack

Attacking force 22506 troops, 214 guns, 319 vehicles, Assault Value = 858

Defending force 3996 troops, 25 guns, 55 vehicles, Assault Value = 142

Japanese engineers reduce fortifications to 1

Japanese adjusted assault: 403

Allied adjusted defense: 133

Japanese assault odds: 3 to 1 (fort level 1)

Japanese forces CAPTURE Bhamo !!!

Combat modifiers
Defender: terrain(+), forts(+), preparation(-), fatigue(-), morale(-)
Attacker:

Japanese ground losses:
279 casualties reported
Squads: 2 destroyed, 40 disabled
Non Combat: 0 destroyed, 4 disabled
Engineers: 0 destroyed, 2 disabled
Vehicles lost 31 (1 destroyed, 30 disabled)

Allied ground losses:
1258 casualties reported
Squads: 29 destroyed, 31 disabled
Non Combat: 79 destroyed, 20 disabled
Engineers: 19 destroyed, 0 disabled
Guns lost 14 (10 destroyed, 4 disabled)
Vehicles lost 32 (31 destroyed, 1 disabled)
Units retreated 2

Tomorrow troops will move north and try to capture Myitkyina asap. They are fallowed by ID and two inf. reg.
In few weeks i will rebuild those regiments in ID, but i need transport one reckon unit from Japan first.
Third ID will arrive to Lashio in 2 days making my forces in north Burma ~2000AV.
Forth ID is marching by road toward Akyab.
In two weeks another ID from Manchuria will land in Rangoon.

Supplies situation is looking ok, but they move very slow. I am upgrading Tanks in Burma to Type 1 model.

Ambon
Allied CV TF (probably two British carriers) one hex south of Ambon.
In Ambon hex transport TFs. Probably transporting supplies or troops.
They where attacked by 18 G4M from Kendari but they fly without escort and 14 where shot down by CAP over base.

48 B-17 attack Kendari AF. I shot down 3 for 3 planes on ground and 4 fighters from ops. No pilot killed. In last week allies lost more heavies that they produce in month.

East cost of OZ
I lost SS during ASW attack near Sydney. Time to change hunting grounds.

China
Kukong 4 days from being totally surrounded.
Chinese troop in Nyanyang are marching now north. Interesting. More reckon send to patrol north china.

Industry
Fuel balance according Witp Tracker is +14800fuel/day, but when i watch on fuel as total fuel is dropping down every turn.
Last turn I have lost 5k fuel day ealier 15k, and all big ships are in ports. Where that fuel is gone. I do not think that all those ships moving resources and fuel to HI using 20k fuel daily.

Just receive turn, but must wait 7 more hours before i will return home.
I am very nervous because in that turn i will attack allied forces in Banda Sea.

For more than week KB and SAG was waiting in Tarnate port for occasion to strike. (Docup is not air serch north of Ceram)

Plan is simple.

1. At night 2xBB, 2xCA, 6xDD will move at flank to Ambon hex and attack allied fleet in hex. Attack will be commanded by admiral Tanaka. After that he will try to meet with KB to hide under KB CAP.

2. KB (5xCV, 270 planes. 130 fighters, 140 bombers) will move north of Ceram and on morning will engage allied fleet.

3. Simultaneously LBA fighters will sweep Ambon, Lautem and Saumlaki. I hope they will force some fighters to be diverted to those bases instead of cap over enemy fleet.

4. Almost 100+ LBA bombers waiting to strike allied fleet on sea. All are torpedo capable. They will have 100 fighters to escort them.

I hope to have almost 600 planes flaying today vs enemy.

I hope allied fleet will remain one more day near Ambon. They are unloading something there and i hope they stay at least an night phase when BBs will arrive.
Probably nothing happen because enemy will move south by night and will be out of plane range on morning. But if he stay it will be bloody day and lots on men will day. I hope mostly with British and Australian accent.

Time to finish with remaining forces in Ambon area. I chose defensive approach.
KB stay north of Ceram to avoid fighting with allied CAP over enemy TF running south.

Main target was damaged CV Indomitable
Morning Air attack on TF, near Ambon at 76,110

Weather in hex: Heavy rain

Raid detected at 80 NM, estimated altitude 17,000 feet.
Estimated time to target is 30 minutes

Japanese aircraft
A6M2 Zero x 75
B5N2 Kate x 17
D3A1 Val x 27

Allied aircraft
P-40E Warhawk x 3
Beaufighter Ic x 4

Japanese aircraft losses
B5N2 Kate: 3 damaged
D3A1 Val: 2 damaged

Allied aircraft losses
P-40E Warhawk: 1 destroyed
Beaufighter Ic: 1 destroyed

Allied Ships
CV Indomitable, Bomb hits 4, Torpedo hits 1, and is sunk
DD Jupiter, Bomb hits 1, Torpedo hits 1, and is sunk

I make small mistake today. By seating wrong destination to KB and he end move on partial land hex and that reduce his sorties by 50%. I must take more attention to that in future.KB still fully operational. 92 torpedoes available all Sentai full with planes and pilots.

It look like allies reopen Ambon AF. I will close it in 2-3 days.

China
Tomorrow i will close siege of Kukong.

2000AV is waiting 90 miles north of Kukong (in rough terrain) for Chines troops marching from Hengyang with rescue mission for sieged city

2 chines units units appear in hex west of Wuchow. Tomorrow air reckon will investigate thathex ans other hexes in area. I have 800AV near Wuchow.

Last day reckon show 28 Chinese bombers in of Chungking. Today 150 Japanese bombers attack Chungking AF. No planes destroyed but AF will be closed for long time.

Ambon Battle
Very quiet. Saumlaki landing in 4-5 days.

Darwin is now AF lvl6 and Derby lvl 4. As soon as Darwin will be lvl 7 allies will be able to use extended range of Liberators to attack Makassar AF I thik thre is ~20 of them in service.

Carriers refit
Kaga in escort of 5 DD sailing to Japan to his refit. I made decision i will not refitting more than 2 CV at once.
Kaga, Shokaku and Zikiku air groups are now training groups.

R&D
First Ki-44IIa Factory repaired. I will not be able to accelerate IIa version so factory upgraded to next model in line. I want to have IIc in March/April 43

EDIT
Guadalcanal
ID unloaded in Lunga. Garrison have now 500AV behind 4 forts and still building. More supplies will arive soon. AF is lvl 4 with air HQ.

Game is on short pause.

Docup have issue with one of his TFs. He told me that on of his TFs has teleported back almost 20 hexes in last turn.

Problem is posted on Tech Forum. We are waiting for information if this a bug, code glitch or Docup made something stupid and send his TF back to home port with full speed.
