I guess having sunk all the Kriegsmarine in 1939 then the AI decided to build it back and for that it did it well.

This is what he did an 60+ turn

Of course it shouldn't be as it takes 96 turn to build a BB and those cost a fortune.

Now overall it works against the AI as spending so much on a useless fleet (he doesn't do anything with it besides going out in the Channel from time to time).

As a result his invasion of the USSR is pretty weak and in the Med I'm already invading Italy in 1941 and Greece didn't fall yet by December 1941.

My feel is that there should be a strategy decided for the AI (Random?) and if it's attacking the USSR then building ships should be limited to a certain number.

If it's Sealion and the Atlantic then Germany shouldn't attack the USSR and keep building a fleet but try to use it to invade the UK.

Actually it takes 48 weeks to build pocket battleships, which are recognized as BB

Also all countries are getting naval vessels by events.

Ok you might be right there, I changed the post name.

Still why let the AI build 15 BB and so many CA if it's not to use those and then attack the USSR?

The AI would need a strategy so it gets focus.

You can easily change the build scheme for the AI if you think it does not fit your game style

I start to believe I would need to rewrite everything for this game to fit my game style unfortunately.

So let's first call this thread back an AI cheat as I did open my save game and put Germany as human player to check around.

The AI did build BB that have an 8/8 value on hits which is definitely pure Battleships and not pocket ones - see the screenshots and pay attention to the number of turn at sea 85 turns at sea for new BB that needs 96 turns to be build when the game is turn 114!!! quite impressive as a CHEAT

If it's by design to make sure this game isn't a simulation then I apologize ... it's perfectly true this game is nothing sort of remotely close to a simulation of anything related to WW2.

And to speak about Pocket-Battleship you didn't obviously read nothing about those before doing this game.

In this game the Schleswig-Holstein is a pocket battleship while in fact it's a pre-dreadnought battleship build before WW1.

Pocket-Battleship were a special design built by the Reichsmarine officially in accordance with restrictions imposed by the Treaty of Versailles. Admiral Scheer, Admiral Graf Spee are pocket-battleships but in this game they are treated as CA.

Actually this points when the ship was last time in port, we are currently working to improve it.

I'm sorry but we don't have this class of ships implemented into the game. If you don't like it please go to the naval_units.csv file in the scenario folder and change it to the class you think it will fit better.

It is fun to fight all those AI ships.

However, I agree. That was one of the first things that was changed in the Third Reich scenario.
