Now, I'm not American, but those Germans (and Dutch too) that travel north to Scandinavia seem to me to be obsessed with elks, wolfs and the nature in general. Though I guess those are overwhelmingly city-dwellers from the Ruhr and other places where industry and urbanisation are widespread.

I one caught a giant "jedda" in Vättern, of course wearing a "flytwest" and seeing a lot of "troslander"
That's about all I know, because my language lessens were limited to fishing

Give it a few months to get prepared, take the usual northern route through Belgium, and we'll all be home before the leaves fall.

Now, now, where did I put those land xAPs... Ah here they are...

I once had 5 minute discussion with a German woman in German, despite the fact that my German language skills were straight from "Commando Comics" of childhood.

Jawohl! Achtung! Genau! Keine ahnung!

It took a while for her to say in English: "You didn't understand a word what I said, did you?"

Well, if the younger Motlke hadn't been that stupid and afraid, the war had indeed been over in winter...

But now we stand side by side in AFG, and hide at home in Libya while the FRENCH are at war.

Not so bad outcome, either

You don't have to have no German language skills to be incapable of understanding German women...

All this makes me think of the old "the difference between European heaven and hell" joke... somehow I don't think that it needs repeating.

Reminds me of the joke about Germans never needing a compas because if you hand one a maching gun, he'll point to Paris.

Or more correctly the "UE", as the French in their language imperialism insist on calling the EU

Well, isn't it because WE took the EU label from the French first: Etats Unis?
