I didn't manage to find the game where we discuted the position of Baku? I remind that Baku was 2 or 3hex too much to the South. As it been fixed or should we try to do something a bout it for the futur?

I ti s a significant issue as Baku is a major objectives and 2 hexes might mean dferences between victory and defeat. The MWIF distance is about 2 hex longer than the WiF one.

I hope something will be done as the map cannot be edited that much by users.

Shifting the location of Baku would require transforming a large part of the map: from Astrakhan down to Teheran and from the middle of the Caucasus mountains to the eastern shore of the Caspian Sea.

That would require a ton of work. I am not going to put in the time and effort to 'fix' this for the initial release.

As for correcting it in the future, it is a low priority given all the other items on my list of desired improvements. Sorry, but all I can say is "don't hold your breath waiting for this change."

I will keep advocating it. This is a major flaw.

But what bother me is that I don't manage to find the original thread. There was large picture to work on.

May it be that the topic was last active more than a year ago. If so it might be hidden because "Display topics from last: xxxx" is set to 365 days.

Orm has a good point. There is a link to all the map screen shots at the top of the forum.

yes on all posts in this thread.

some day, the solution will be to fudge the deserts in central Iran and Turkmenistan ... no one is worried about perfect accuracy in those places. The Russian/Armenian border just had too much detail put in, and to reflect all the neat lake and alpine hexsides, the area grew too long. It surely wasn't easy converting a flexible scale map featuring two different scales to a single unified detail.

Gaming it out on a paper map reveals frustrations for each side in that little micro-theater. Russian reinforcements marching in from Baku are too far away....and after the Axis have Tiflis, Baku is too far away for them too.

Thanks, the thread might be too old (I though my last up was less than a year but I might be wrong).
