LOL! Well, they are filthy Klingons.

I changed Rephidian Ale to Romulan Ale without realising that it's one of the Klingon resources, so now Klingons get a bonus from having Romulan Ale! I'll fix for the next update.

Yeah Igard...all of the Klingon Troop Generals (or Ground CO's, whichever) will most
likely receive the 'drunk' trait. LOL!

I guess I should have read the previous page where you already thought about using bloodwine.

By the way, Igard..your Total Conversion mod on the 1st page of this thread isn't working.

Link fixed. Thanks Sabre.

I'm going to continue to think of Trek resources. If anyone has suggestions, let me know.

Changes for the next Total conversion update-

Wiconium - Blood Wine

Would be nice to get a few more before I release 1.0 of the Picard mod. I can then change the resource bonuses accordingly.

Good ones! A few are already in there.

Raktajino is the Klingon coffee I think you're referring to.

I'll list all the changes as I go so we can all see.

Aculon ;Tritanium
Bifurian Silk ;Tholian Silk
Caguar Fur ;Sehlat Fur
Caslon ;Deuterium
Chromium ;Duranium
Dantha Fur ;Tarcassian Razorbeast Fur
Ekarus Meat ;Targ Meat
Emeros Crystal ;Tabalian Glass
Falajian Spice ;Hasperat Spice
Jakanta Ivory ;Mugato Ivory
Rephidium Ale ;Romulan Ale
Wiconium ;Blood Wine
Zentabia Fluid ;Tranya

I love the idea of the Omega molecule, but there's nothing it could replace. It is a kind of holy grail object after all.

Gold to latinum - yay or nay?

I'm going thru my Star Trek encyclopedia and my original Star Trek manual to see what else I can find. There are hundreds of entries in these for everything you can imagine that pertains to the Star Trek universe.

Here are a few more:

Acidichloride - Corrosive gasseous chemical, toxic to humans..used in medical treatments

Actinides - radioactive compound which inhibits sensors, used to prevent detection

Adrenaline - medical drug used to treat radition induced aging

Aldorian Ale - from Next Generation

Antarean brandy - from the original Star Trek

Antimatter

Astatine - mineral found on planet Orellius (DS9)

Beritium - metallic substance used in making jewelry (DS9)

Bilitrium - extremely rare crystalline compound used as an energy source (DS9)

Cobalt diselenide - biochemical substance used in biological weapons that is toxic to cardassians but not other humanoids (DS9)

I could probably find a couple hundred more if you like.

Thats what I was thinking up, as for gold vs Latinum...being that is is the STNG universe I would go with latinum.

This has become really good fun!

I think Saurian Brandy is quite well known. We should stick to ones that are the best known.

Also, the really rare stuff, like Loros fruit, is all luxury. So no extremely rare strategic resources can be used.

So,

Nepthys Wine ;Saurian Brandy
Gold ;Latinum

I think that should do it for beverages now.

It might be easier for me to list what I need to replace now.

Aquasian Incense ;Aquasian Incense - Could use a medical resource, Cordrazine?
Argon ;Argon
Ilosian Jade ;Ilosian Jade
Iridium ;Iridium - Doesn't need replaced, but could be
Korabbian Spice ;Korabbian Spice - Venus Drug?
Krypton ;Krypton
Lead ;Lead - Again doesn't need replaced
Loros Fruit ;Loros Fruit - Has to be something rare
Megallos Nut ;Megallos Nut - Kava nut (Vorta's choice) or Tera nut (Tuvok made tera-nut suffle)?
Natarran Incense ;Natarran Incense
Nekros Stone ;Nekros Stone
Osalia ;Osalia
Otandium Opal ;Otandium Opal
Questurian Skin ;Questurian Skin
Terallion Down ;Terallion Down
Tyderios ;Tyderios
Ucantium Pearl ;Ucantium Pearl
Vodkol ;Vodkol - Ok 1 more drink. Root beer?
Yarras Marble ;Yarras Marble

From STO

Bateret Incense
Ferasan Nepeta Leaves
Shapeshifting Lockets
Jevonite was already mentioned
Tulaberries

STO also has a large number of Trade Goods and Particle traces used for Research like Methogenic Particles and Genetic Sequences etc. Not sure if any of those would fit in.

Gold in DW is a building resource, not a monetary resource (and it isn't at all rare) so I'd be more in favour of keeping Gold as Gold and using Latinum as one of the Luxury Resources.

Das, that's a very good point. I've been making some changes to the galactopedia and Latinum is described as a liquid silver substance, that is used as currency. It's suspended within gold for ease of transaction.

So, it would make more sense to make it a luxury resource. Gold will remain a strategic resource.

Ok here's more changes. Thanks for the contributions all!

Natarran Incense ;Bataret Incense
Megallos Nut ;Kava Nut
Aquasian Incense ;Latinum (I've also changed the image for this)

Tophat, I'm not sure if denbian slime devils are particularly sought after. The Klingon who compared Kirk to one, didn't have a high opinion of them anyway.

Good one Demonius! One of the more 'deadlier' resources if found by the Dominion.

Will you put out a revised resource list?
I know you already did a lot of work...
I am not keeping up with all the changes... (my problem, not yours)

Sure TJ. Here's the entire resource list as I have it now. If you like, you can replace these lines in your own gametext.txt file. Just be sure not to delete any lines. Items that need to be replaced are highlighted.

I'm not going to use Ketracel. It's only use is to the Dominion, so not much point in others mining it. Good idea though Demonious. I like those duty officer assignments!

You're welcome TJ. As long as he's not drinking all my Romulan Ale, that's fine with me!

Just thinking here guys...

Deuterium is mainly used to power impulse engines and RCS thrusters. I think Sabre21 mentioned anti-matter?

I think I'll make these changes :-

Caslon ;Anti-matter
Tyderios ;Deuterium

That might make more sense. Any objections?

No I think you hit this one as well............

warp Engines= Anti-matter

The Romulans use what a micro singularity? (why? Because its sci-fi and they are nuts)

Too bad you can't have a First Federation bubble, light-bulb ship commanded by a baby out on a Tranya hunt. What a surprise encounter that would be!

It seems the Dominion's third victory condition is to control 33% of all None colonies, tall order that! I guess everyone is just playing against them, hm?

Yeah, still working on those victory conditions! I think I've already fixed that one for the next update, Ardryn, but I'll double check. Thanks for reporting, but there are lots more errors in the victory conditions I still need to sort.
