Hi guys
I think the new patch looks great, Air to Air combat looked very good, bloody to both sides, and if you send in bombers with no fighters, don't expect many bombers back

wasn't able to see much of the Ship to Ship combat, the few I had were screw up battles

ahhh, read me says the CV TF should not react to another CV TF if set not to, well, it still does

damage placement looks much better (Niki should be happy, DID see Deck Armor hits during bomb runs and while only had 500's, they bounced when hitting a BB (7 500's hit Deck Armor, 1 Trop put a nice hole in the side, also after battle, seen one of my damaged DD's 49 Sys damage, 0 Flood damage, 10 Fire damage, so that bomb hit, looked like it was all Sys and Fire damage, good work Niki)

scen 14

had the major first CV battle, did some damage to them, they did some to me, Wasp will be out for a while, Hit all 3 IJN CV's, Major air battles and major losses for both sides, seen what looked like 3 IJN ACES from the first set of battles, 1 US ACE

next day, as the IJN was limping home, a Strike caught one of the big CV's, WOW, 18 1000's hits, a smaller strike caught the Juyno ?, only getting 2 Trops into her, but it should of been enough, end of day showed 45 some planes destroyed on the field (DECK ?) no fighter cover and just a big slow target in the water, takes a pounding

over all it looks very good to (things I thought were wrong, were based on my mistakes, not the games)

ahhh one thing that was strange, have FOW on so that may explain it, but had 3 Nells come in, shot down 3 Nells, report shows 2 KIA, another raid, 3 Bettys come in, 3 go down, report shows 2, then 21 Bettys come in, 21 go down, report shows 12, end of day numbers seem to match the reports numbers, so either the raids comeing in are not as big as they show, or a whole lot of over claiming going on :)

Thanks for all the HARD work guys, it just keeps getting better and better

Looks good here too ! The IJN horde descending on Buna and Gili Gili - air attacks on Port Moresby - the Zeroes having a field day with the P39s but suffering a little more to the P40s. Crace and 3 cruisers teaching a small initial invasion force a lesson in longe range gunnery that looked excellent to me - IJN lost 2 DD and an MSW under the fire from 2 CA, a CL and 2 DD. Daylight action mostly at long range that sure looked good to me !

This is excellent Matrix ! God I love you guys - in a hero worship sort of way !

I concur, it's going excellent :)

Only if they are following another TF, needs both.
Though my force of 2-3 carriers hasn't been reacting at all, maybe it's the commander? Says he's promising and agressive, just the captain of one of the carriers though.

And that was attacking 4 different TF's, 2 with 2 CV's, another with 1 and the last with a CV and CVL. The enemy (well a couple) reacted to me (split up nicely too, and at extreme range).

Unless there's no or little enemy cap, or you consider 3 escort fighters support :)
AA is still working well, seems like just under a 1/4 get wiped out and another 1/3 or more damaged when attacking the normal CV TF taskforce the AI puts together. Somewhat higher when there's CAP and/or they decide attacking that ship surrounded by AA batteries in a base is a good idea.

Hmm, I don't watch the animated combat, though the handful of bombs that have landed on the carriers have only been doing sys damage (and not much at that, maybe 10%). Of course, the single torp that hit a carrier did 20 sys and float damage, it's spending 105 days at pearl recovering :)

Numbers seem right to me though, and it has taken around 15-20 bombs per enemy carrier to sink it outright (so far I think 4 CV's and a CVL have gone down, they just seem to have run out of aircraft!).

I've been playing without FOW and the figures add up ok on the combat report, 12 fly in, 10-14 go boom. So might just be FOW and your overzealous pilots :)

Ah, and once again it's 3am and I'm wondering where the last 6 hours went, congrats on a fine patch matrix and 2by3!

ahhh that may of been it, I had been following a Transport TF, but it left the area just as the IJN CV's came down, and I had to rush my CV's back to the area, so forgot to have them follow anybody (in this case it worked out okay)

LOL Maine
you replying to mine just as I getting done replying to yours, we got to stay in one forum

looks great to me, bout ready to scrap my last game and start me up a new one (last one was over, but had a year to go to have the AI find out)

YIPPEE the IJN and USN are both now launching torpedoes!

As a first quick look at v 2.10 here are results from a game I had saved under v2.00. This is the game under which the IJN only fired torpedoes once in 9 re-runs of the same game under 2.00.

Under the first re-run with v2.10
a) the USN achieved radar surprise and got in a round of gunfire at the begining
b) even with that the IJN and the USN both did launch torpedoes!

YAY!!!
