I registered for the Slitherine forum, but after I login I cannot access the forum index, I remain locked in a "Forum Index" page which has the message "This board has no forums." Huh??? There does not appear be a way to contact anyone at Slitherine for help with this. Any suggestions? Thx.

Thanks, but I'm aware of that - that's the page I'm referring to. It doesn't allow me to access the forums after I login. I get the message I describe above.

Clean your browser cache.
Or try with another browser.

I've cleared the cache several times. No, I'm not going to download another browser just to access their forum, not worth the hassle frankly. Thanks.

That's very wierd. Are you blocking cookies? The site requires cookies to allow you to login correctly.

Check ur security settings, they are very touchy when you try overseas sites.

If you work for Slitherine, how about putting me in touch with someone who can help me out? Cheers (???)

What he said ^ .

If you can check whether you are blocking cookies too aggressively that would be a first step to working out what the issue is. Also, what browser are you using?

Not blocking cookies, using IE9, same problem on 2 different computers, also tried on Firefox unsuccessfully, same ID as on Matrix forum. Thx.

I suppose that if you don't login everything is normal. The issue is only after login, right?

I don't know if it's alright if I join this thread - I'm having exactly the same problem as DerTroof, so I do not want to create another one. I sent a mail to info@slitherine.co.uk, but it's Sunday of course, so I'll have to wait for official reply for a bit.

I registered on Slitherine just today, and I also get the same response on the forum site, so I guess it's the same problem. I can freely browse the forum, while anonymous (except the closed forums, of course). I get "This board has no forums" message only when logged in. If I try to access a particular subforum (via bookmarks) - access is disallowed.

I am able to enter the User Control Panel - but for example I am not allowed to send or receive private messages - it's forbidden.

I already checked the cookies option (clearing them), tried Safe Mode in Firefox, IE browser access, turned off virus and firewall software for a few minutes etc. I am guessing there is some problem with forum user privileges of DerTroof and me. I tried googling "This board has no forums" and I have mostly found discussions about setting user rights in phpBB.

There is another problem for me also - maybe unconnected to the first so I'll mention it just in case. I tried playing a game of multiplayer. I issued a challenge with the DLC scenario Piatek (I copied it to the Scenarios folder). I played the first turn, the played the second and third - only to find out I was still playing the first turn - again. After this, I think my opponent got bored (can hardly blame him, I do not even know, what he saw). But I guess it might be a totally different problem with different causes.

By the way, this is my first post on either of PzC forums, so hello! :-)

Thank you, VPaulus. Not what I would call a great start on the forums for me, but I've been lurking here long enough not to worry. Everyone here is very helpful.

The only thing I have seen that seems to act like that seemed to be when people were accidentally logging in through slitherine.co.uk, but I don't think that is the case here.

Our server guys will take a look and try and find out what is going on with these accounts.

Thanks for the info guys.

Cheers

Pip

Seriously Slitherine, do something about it, because I have the same problem as these people and I already reported the issue a day ago! It's most likely a simple permission issue based on experience with running my own forums. A quick Google only confirms my suspicion.

We are looking into it. Are you a newly registered user? I just created a new account, and managed to login to the forums without trouble, so just trying to work out what the common cause might be.

What login did you choose for Slitherine?

Cheers

We found a bug in the latest update and fixed it. All the users experiencing this issue are now fixed as well.

I order from amazon a lot and never had a problem until the other day it would not let me complete my order I called they said what browser you using I said internet explorer they said use Mozilla I said ok so I downloaded mozilla made sure it did not become my default browser had to remind this to the program about 5 times and when using mozilla my order easiy went through... The moral to the story is with computers from my years of expierience with them starting with Microsoft Dos is that no matter what you are going to have what is known as gliches it may be easier just to use mozilla if that works with the forums might be fun to use mozilla with all your gaming needs on slitherine and matrix and have favorites that only point to these places that way you do not have to hack your way through the potentially massive favorites you have using internet explorer or whatever you are using...

one last thing had a problem with a Norton progam called them up this was like 15 years ago or so the guy goes how many characters are in your short cut I said 11 he said it can not be over 8 I said ok he said yeah it took us 4 months to figure this one out I said ok thanks. (now can you imagine the aggravation they had to go through to figure that out and all their customers they had to deal with)

Don't let the pc demons win maybe change the browser until slithy fixes it.

Oh my. It's... it's alive! The Slitherine forum is working!
Thank you, guys!

By the way - this update error - could it have been responsible for my multiplayer problems? I'll probably check it myself now...
