I sent my endurance 3100 SC's to PH and activated those float planes on the WC sending them to PH. Combine the two and it discourages submarine action .. after the 5th sub met Davy Jones ... he went elsewhere ..

Changsha
Japs sweep in small packages.  They pay for this.  32 Oscars are shot down with 5 ops.  We lose 8 P40Es and 2 P40Bs.

Singapore
Does it have oil.  I have intel that a group of tankers are there.

Timor AO
Koniu lands at Dodo, Taberfang and another island.

got to run more later

PG Charleston and 2 other ships ran into an xAKL about 15 hexs SW of Attu.  Wonder what this ship was doing out here all alone.  Pickett ship or what.

Koniu is sealing off the Timor AO.  I haven't seen any of his tankers for a long time.  I am trying to find out of he is taking fuel or oil from Pbang and Soerabaja.  I have a carrier TF positioned off of Sumatra right now waiting for something to kill.  I have just set one of the old LB 30 squadrons on recon of Sorerabaja.  Maybe I will find something here.

Moulmein
150 fighters present.  I see 70 bombers at Rangoon.  I think this is a trap for my bombers.  I don't have enought fighters to sweep Rangoon, so I will leave them be for now.

Like I said, I have a 2 CV TF off DEI.  I am trying to decide if I should strike at Pbang or Soerabaja.  I think Soerabaja might have some damaged warships repairing in the port.  But I am not sure.  Do I wait till I see a tanker TF loading up or do I go and strike.

Any thoughts.  Let me know guys.

Some good intel this turn.  Tankers are at Singers.  Gudgeon took a shot at one and took 4 hits for the attempt.  Intel says there is a tanker at Pbang.  Recon shows 149 ships at Soerabaja.   Decisisons decisions.

I think I will split up my CVs and hit Soerabaja with one and either Pbang or Singer with the other.  Singers will be hard to hit because of the distance also I forgot to upgrade the devesators to avengers.  OPPPSSSS  But he could have his CVs at Singers.  I can hit any target in 2 days.

Soerabaja
I know has some DDs, CLs (probably those that were shot up around Derby) and transports.  149 ships in port can't miss hitting something.

Pbang
Atleast one tanker reported.  I don't know if its in port or in a TF.  I do see a TF symbol though.

Singers
Atleast 4 tankers and also have intel of CAs in 2 different TFs.

The rest of the turn was your typical ground bombings.

PH
We smack I-122 around for 4 hits.

Darwin
We smack I-166 around for 5 hits.  Air ASW reports hits on I-166 and 3 hits on I-165.  Be nice of this is correct.

Pbang
I have detached 2 DDs to go raid Pbang.  They are undected just outside of Merak. Radio traffic reported at Pbang lets hope this is the tanker TF.  They will go in tomorrow

Singers
Gudgeon takes some more hits to keep giving us some good intel.  Tankers are still here along with a large transport TF.

Soerabaja
Port is still full of ships.  Carriers must of refueld or something they didn't move very far.  They are 2 days away from being able to attack.

So before I leave I should be able to smack the Japs around.  Koniu said he needs a few days to mess around with his economy and stuff.

Pbang
Gridley and McCall encounter 2 tanker TFs.  Combat reports are as followed.

AFTER ACTION REPORTS FOR Jul 27, 42
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Night Time Surface Combat, near Palembang at 48,91, Range 11,000 Yards

Japanese Ships
E Hachijo, Shell hits 16, and is sunk
TK San Clemente Maru, Shell hits 23,  heavy fires,  heavy damage
TK San Ramon Maru, Shell hits 18, Torpedo hits 1, and is sunk
TK Teiyo Maru, Shell hits 16, Torpedo hits 2, and is sunk

Allied Ships
     DD Gridley
     DD McCall

Night Time Surface Combat, near Palembang at 48,91, Range 12,000 Yards

Japanese Ships
     E Hashidate
TK Hoyo Maru, Shell hits 2,  on fire,  heavy damage
TK Huzisan Maru, Shell hits 2
TK Kaizyo Maru, Shell hits 3,  heavy fires
TK Kuroshio Maru, Shell hits 1,  heavy fires
TK Toa Maru, Shell hits 1

Allied Ships
     DD Gridley, Shell hits 1
     DD McCall

The shell hit didn't do any damage to the Gridley.  They both broke away from the last TFs due to no ammo.  They also disengaged from PB TF.  So 3 tankers sunk with one E boat.  I suspect that atleast one more tanker will sink maybe 2 more if I am lucky.  I didn't see any fuel cargo buring on the second group.  I am hoping they will burn themselves to the bottom of the ocean.  Koniu said that I am a pirate for sinking unarmed tankers. ARGGGGG ME MATEY.

Soerabaja
Our carrier TF is still undected and will be within strike range tomorrow morning.  Intel says 9 ships are in port, but I see a TF in the hex.  Planes are on max range lets hope the do some damage.  Port strike is secondary for TT bombers and the 1 group of DBs the rest has port strike.  Intel has CAs, CLs, DDs and transports listed in port.

PH
RO boat takes 3 hits.

Darwin
I-165 takes 2 hits.

A cease fire has been declared between me and Koniu.  I am getting married tomorrow and will be heading off to my honeymoon.  So no turns for a while.

Thanks Crackaces.

Our DDs are running up the Straits of Malacca.  They are currently to the east of Malacca.  Not out of harms way yet.

Our CV TF will be 3 hexs away from Soerabaja tomorrow when they launch there attack.

I rewatched the CR.  I think Koniu may loose all 3 for those damaged tankers.

Atleast I know where the KB is right now.  I hope the Hiyo is going to be in port for a little while.  With the destruction of my CV TF in DEI all other ops in this area will stop.  I will keep a presences in the area till I get my amphib op completed.

MKB may be in the Solomons it looks as if its heading to Ndeni.  Maybe a raid.  I am moving AC into the area.  My prob is I haven't landed enought AV support yet.

Darwin
3 subs still patroling 1 hex out of Darwin.  We hit I-165 8 times.  She has to be hurting now.  Also got reports that she took 2 bomb hits from our Wirraways.

Been gone for a week and having to get back into myold moves.

I am not depressed about what I lost.  It was a bad wedding gift Koniu gave me.  Someone needs to teach him the right.  I watched the replay about 3 hours before the wedding and wasn't mad or angry.  I knew the risks involved in that operation.

Burma
We bomb the 1st and 4th Jap IDs, they are moving towards the hex to the east of Akyab.  I have 2 IDs that have been a little roughed up, but still in good shape.  I also have 2 Bde's, 2 armor units, 1 art 2 AA, and several eng units.  I figure the 2 Jap IDs and a bunch of art units are moving up.  I will stand and fight here.

Ndeni
Naval bombardment by 2 BBs don't do much damage but the hung around for the day.  I will move DBs and 2Es in for an attack tom.  I see fighters are Tulagi.  I will try and night bomb Tulagi maybe I can take out some of the 37 fighters reported here.

PH
Invasion forces are on board the ships and ready to move.  They will move out during the night.  Koniu will know something is up with those darn recon planes, but nothing I can do about it.

I am seeing older AC flying in China.  I wonder if his pools are low or did he screw up his AC production.

Invasions require alot of ships.  This will be my first real atol invasion.  A lot of prepping, positioning, planning and more go into these operations.

In a couple of days, I will reveal the invasion site.  Some of you might guess the location a few do know.  So lets get this op going.  Wish me luck.

KB or part of the KB is off in the Indian Ocean looking for targets.

Ndeni
I wish I had my carriers close to Ndeni, if I did I'd go after the MKB.  It looks like it is going to head east.  He knows my carriers are no where near him.  The BB SAG is heading SW.  I have a SAG lead by a CA moving up towards Noumea.   I have stopped all naval attacks.  It's not like I have much to attack with right now.

Burma
I have stood down my bombers.  I plan on making a big raid with everyone soon.  He swept Akyab, maybe he will do it again.  I have fighters waiting for him this time.  My bombers have been moved to different bases to keep him from bombing all of them at once.

China
I have set a flak trap in China lets see if he keeps up his routine.

I have forgot about the Canadian AF.  I will buy some of the sqds out and move them out into the Pacific.  I need fighters.  I just hope his pools are low too.

2 Days to tell you all about.

2nd Aug

KB IO
MKB Solomons

China
I put my fighters on LRCAP on Nanyang.  Japs bomb a unit in a wooded hex several hexs away.  They instead went over there and got into a big furball.  We lost more than Koniu did but not by much.

Lunga
We send in some LB 30s and B24Ds the meet up with 19 Zeros.  We lose 3 LB 30s and 6 B24s for 9 Zeros.   Not a good trade.

KB IO?
MKB Solomons?

Quiet turn.

Mandalay
We are throwing everything at the 2 units stationed here.  Sweep with Hurri IIc's all bombers are attacking.  4Es, 2E, 1E, even the Chinese are bombing here.  All are going in low.

Akyab
It looks like the 2 Jap IDs have stopped moving towards our forces.  Fine with me for right now.  MLR in northern Burma is getting stronger, just needs more supplies.

China
Moving units around and bombings

NorPac
Quiet

CentPac and SouPac
Moving units and supplies around.

Invasion force is organizied and heading to target nicely.  Starting to prep and move units for the next operations.

We hit it hard.  614 KIA's reported from 2 Const Bn's.

Akyab
Koniu got 7 units into the hex to the east of it with my units.  I know there was 2 IDs in this stack.  I don't think he can push me out.  1111 AV plus art and armor units.  But Koniu might of made a mistake.  He only left one unit behind him.  I will recon by fire this turn to see what it is.  If it is a light unit I may be able to push a full Brit ID across the river and shock attack this unit out of the hex and cut off his supply lines.  This is close enough to my bases that I should be able to keep air superiority.

Rangoon
SC hits a mine.  OPPS

Koepang, Samulaki gets bombed.

Horn Is
AVP is sunk by an RO boat.

Invasion fleet is still moving without any problems.

Bombers pound the Jap troops.  Over 100 are reported killed. We also hit the unit that is one hex to the south covering the yellow road.  It's an SNLF.  The Japs deliberately attacked me, kinda foolish I was expecting a art attack.  I can cut off those Jap units, if I can move the Brit ID from Akyab across the river.

No naval bombardment, they didn't leave the port. Night air raid didn't do much.

Our trap failed 6 P39s lost for nothing.

Invasion
The gig is up. Invasion force sighted. I don't know if Koniu saw it, he didn't say anything. A 2 ship TF sighted close to our ships. A CL SAG will move to intercept it.

Targets are Wojte and Maloelap. Each atoll will have an ID with Tank Bn landing in the assualt wave. An IR for each atoll is in reserve. All units are prepped 88 or better. Second wave consits of BFs, CDs, and AA units for each atoll.

4 CVs are divided into 2 CV TFs they will provide air cover for the operation. One CVE will provide cover for the second wave. 4 SAGs are present. 4 old BBs are in amphib TFs to bombard the beaches. I hope to get the amphib TFs within 2 hexs before sending them in to land the troops. APs, AKs, xAPs, xAKs are in the amphib TFs. Mostly APs and AKs. I want a quick and effecient offload. I have LBA fighters at Wake ready to fly into the captured atolls.

B24s and LB 30s will bomb Tabiteauea AF. I will put one sqd of DBs and TBs on nav attack and bomb the atolls. More later.

Tabiteuea
2 Nells are toasted on the ground by B24s hitting the AF.

Koni said in the email that I had hurt him and he will be back.  HMM is he playing with my mind here?  He said he had been tracking me for 4 days.  I wonder how?  I see that he should still have more fighters and bombers left.   We are still a few hexs out but I am sending the TFs onto there destinations.  I am worried about the outcome.  I hate to divide my CAP between TFs.  Maybe I did enought damage to drop their morale some.  I am going to change the Bufs alt from 5k to 3k.  I think that would cut into the TT bombers some.

The CV TF covering Maloelap only has 3 Buffs to fly low CAP.  I am thinking of doing one invasion at a time and move both CV TFto cover the single invasion then move them to the other invasion site.  Do I play it safe and do one landing at a time or go for broke and do both landings at once.  The Wolte landing is 3 hexs away and can move 4/4.  Need feed back guys let me know what you all think.

I went with saftey. I am going after Maloelap atoll first. My reasoning. More AC to portect my ships and men. The TFs were closer to Maloelap, so they will be able to unload as much as possible in one day. Wojte atoll was 3 hexs away from my TFs. I have close to 100 LBA fighters at Wake waiting to fly into the captured AFs. This will help with CAP. I am moving another 50 or so to Midway then to Wake.

If we take Maloelap tomorrow without heavy losses to the fleet, I may send a nav bombardment TF to Roi-Namur. Maybe we can catch some planes on the ground. I am hoping to have some B25's in the area soon. They are still in transit from EC. Also if everything goes well with Maloelap. I might send the Saratoga home for repairs. I am expecting the KB and MKB to and engage my forces. I am hopeing to be out of the area once the KB arrives. If not I hope I have enough fighters to hold them off.

Bombers have been pulled from the Solomons. So I figured these went to counter my attack in the Marshall Islands.

Burma
2Es will attack Mandalay again with sweeps from P38s, and Hurri IIc's. I plan on destroying these units.

East of Akyab. Koniu has his units moving south again. I don't know what he is doing here.

USA ID is heading to the worm hole to be sent to Capetown. I plan on starting an offensive in Burma soon. I am also planning on pulling out one of the Chinese Corps to fully rebuild it.

Still getting intell of attacks on Hilo, Adak, and Chunking. Hilo is wide open. I'll let him try to attack here, but it won't happen. Adak and Chunking are about as good as they will get.

KB Truk?
MKB unknown

Burma
2E bombers bombing all over the place only one group went where I wanted them to go.

Saumlaki
We night attack again.  5 A6m2 and 2 m3a's are destroyed on the ground.

Marshall Islands
Lexington takes a TT from a sub.  Mod damage.  We will invade Wotje tomorrow.  The AP that was damaged in the Maloelap landing hit a reef.  Now thats cool.  The xAK is fighting the fires and might be live to fight another day.  Got a heavy radio message at Truk.  This may be the KB.  It's about 30 hexs away.  If he does full speed, I don't think he will be able to launch any attacks tomorrow.  Maybe I am wrong.

Hawaii
We hit a Jap sub twice one of those being a critical hit to the engines.

We had lots of ASW looks but only a few attacks and only one with damage.  The sub that hit the Lex was spotted 3 times.

Ok guys.  Me an Koniu were just talking about our Night bombing HR's.  We have it as no mor than 3 night attacks in a week this was before the patch.  I accidently violated that last turn and actually scored some hits.  He is open to changing it.  From what I see now night bombing seems kinda right ops loses go up don't hit much.  What do you all think.

I just looked and measured.  For the KB to get from Truk to be within 8hex attack range it would have to travel 20 hexs.  I don't think it can do that.  I might be wrong.  If I am let me know.

I have intel that 2 Jap BDEs are heading to Tarawa.  I am sending a CL plus 2 DDs to block the path.  I might get lucky and he won't have his Nav search looking at his back door.  Got a  ton of reports of 2 PBs being hit by SBDs.  I still see them on my screen.  I am getting reports everyday of more DDs and transports being sunk in previous engagments.  25 DDs and 20 subs listed as sunk.
