Here is the situation in Burma.

We are moving forces around to stop from being outflanked, you can see we have already dug in on the main line of resistance which is the jungle of central Burma, but don't want to give up our main airfields yet... plus they have nice forts!

Supplies are tight, more is on the way.

West DEI/Indian Ocean

We have built up a nice string of airbases on the reverse slope (except Tavoy) from the enemies likley advance.

Sabang is now lvl 6 afld, 5 forts and 450AV.

We were using Victoria Point as our main forward airbase, but have had to pull back due to the mining. If we loose the central Burma airfields then Bangkok will be threatened.

We have a string of other decent airfields in Malaya, and have alreday dug level 3-4 forts down the peninsula. Thailand though is not as well prepared.

Andrew is slowly inching forward via Groote Eylandt... or is he sticking his head into the noose of surrounding bases?

Samulaki is the cork in the bottle and is shaping up into a nice base...

We have alreday dug in the line behind, Manakowari, Boela, Ambon and Kendari.

The line behind is planned but not started. Will go Sorong- Ternate- Manado.

Air production

Things are going well, we have had to throttle back production to try and save some Heavy Industry. Engines are all in a slight surplus to meet the production.

Industry

I think we are behind on saving Heavy Industry, otherwise the econmoy is going Ok considering how much aircraft R&D we have done!

Being very selective with ships, lots turned off... accelerating a CV at a time. Next one due in about 5 days.

Well the low level Cap Trap works out, thanks in part to the P-47D sweep arriving last to the party. We claim over 40 B-25 shot down and 17 odd B-26. We still losse about 30 Frank though :(

Andrew is moving in the open ground, skirting our defences... and hoping to draw us out into the open!

He has quickly built up Shwebo. All we can do is wait and raid.

We have now occupied most of the defensive terrain in regimental strength. we have about 2000AV forward in the central Burma cities... we want to cause delay by making him have to prepare for them. Supply has been average but we now have large amounts in Malaya and are shipping it forward.... through the many minefields...

Build up the port of Tavoy, if not done so, to unload supply there rather than Rangoon.

Let me know when you find the 'magic' ASW TF combo, the airplane types to use, and which setting to kill Allied subs. We are within a few days of each other and I'm having trouble hitting them, let alone kill them.

I fear that they are going to overwhelm me sooner rather than later. I use waypoints everywhere and hug the coast, but the buggers still seem to find me.

I'm nearly a year behind you two, but Kates have been the most deadly ASW planes so far for me. Working at 2k 7 hex range mostly. 50% ASW 20% train 30% rest. I'm still trying to figure out at what level my IJAAF 2Es carry a full load of bombs on ASW. Is it down to 2k, or only to 6k?

I heavily escort anything important. Sometimes up to a 1:1 ratio. As for a dedicated ASW TF, 4 newish DDs have been the best, but of course you can't always afford to use them in that role. The faster SCs and Es have also done well for me. I keep PBs mostly in the shallow water areas, and they've hit some subs hard there, but are of course useless in open ocean.

We are currently using Moulmein, as it is on the rail line, I think we can clear the mines, but the backup is Tavoy (both are level 2 ports)

We are getting fairly regular hits, our aircraft are Helen IIa with a mix of ASW skills (we pulled out about half the ASW trained crews and put in sme bomber crews when we were hitting the islands)... h'mm need to relook at the ASW bit again.

The ship TF are getting the odd hit too... but keep having to send back to rearm.

We are supressing but not killing the subs... whereas ours tend to die :(

concur on your points, forgot to mention we have several ground based Kate and Judy units working the area too.

Agree on DD's and PB's the later are effective in the shallows, Andrew largely keeps out of the shallows for that reason... which means we can get most places we want to.

Some of the SC classes do Ok... but nothing are the sub death stars that the Allies have :(

Horn Island - you lost 8 airframes for 16 Allies. That is good as you can afford the airframes. The Allies are getting more aggressive, but you need the attrition war to some extent.

Yes, we can afford IJA fighter and bomber losses, not so the IJN fighters though... for some reason the IJN pilots take about 50% more to train... We suffered a lot more ops losses than what is shown.

We are about to graduate several hundred new pilots, so we are buring a few while we can and achieve a reasonable effect.

D4Y3 Judy has just entered production :) This is the last of the CV dive bomber I think...

Here is our current air production. Need to turn some more Helen IIa back on.
