Fairly new to Wite, played the campaign as germans without any problems.

Now playing the campaign as russians and getting a lot of lag during combat phase with the screen sometimes disappearing and reapperaing, also when trying to re-assign a unit to another hq there's a great deal of lag.

My PC far exceeds all the specs required to play the game and as previously stated I've already played the campaign once without any problems.

Does anybody have any idea's how I can eliminate the lag I'm now experiencing in the game ?

Some things to start with:

1. Exclude game directories in your AntiVirus software.
2. Update video and sound drivers to latest.

Thanks traemyn but I'm already complying with your suggestions.

Whats puzzeling me is that the problem is specific to just the combat phase and unit hq re-assignment, in all other aspects the game runs without any problem or delay.

Bought the disc around March of this year, have subsequently checked updates and I'm told I have the most recent version.

Playing again today, during combat phase the screen was occasionally blacking out for a few seconds but whats even more annoying is the "lag" when trying to re-assign units to a new HQ, wait several seconds for the HQ list to appear and then another several seconds for the unit to accept it, no big deal if you're re-assigning only 1 or 2 units but doing say a dozen or more is a bit like watching paint dry a real bore.

Most annoying of all I played the full campaign soon after receiving the game with absolutely no problems what so ever now re-playing the campaign with the only change being I'm now commanding the Russians and encountering these "gliches"

Version 1.06.12 which was recently posted had some optimization of the game code for reassigning units. We are now up to beta version 1.06.13 so if you are not running that, or at least 1.06.12, then you need to update your game. You can do that by going to the Members area and downloading the latest version.

Thanks Elmo, my current version is 1.06.06, can't understand why the auto update tells me I have the most recent version when clearly I don't.

I'm having trouble finding the versions you've mentioned do you have a link ?

The "Auto Update" will only install "official" versions - the current "unofficial" BETA version is WItE v1.06.12 and that can be obtained via Matrix Member's pages...

Thanks Leo & Elmo, downloaded latest Beta and have an immediate improvement on the lag problem. Still have the occassional screen black out during the AI combat phase but only for a second or two, nothing I can't live with.
