Hopefully everyone knows the story, if not, google it and marvel at a sport's capacity for mirroring the best and worst of life.

So, anyone know where I can get an FC Start jersey? Somebody has to make them, and if not, a good picture so I can have one made? I want Klimenko's jersey number.

This is what I found out. Anyway, remember that in football (you know, the sport which is played with the FEET ) teams have 2 outfits, to avoid mistakes ie if two teams were using basically let's say blue colour etc. etc.

So one of these outfits -photo 2- is apparently white with a horizontal strip on the chest. The GK is using some sort of Freddykruegeresque jersey.

Hmm, it's gonna be complicated! So, the team is obviously the FC Start. But many of the players were from the FC Dynamo Kyiv (unemployed, not able to play because of occupation) and Lokomotiv. And one of Dynamo Kyiv´s outfits is indeed a white shirt with a blue horizontal strip on the chest, exactly like the photo 2 of my previous pictures. So maybe people are confusing things here. They assume the FC Start was using the FC Dynamo Kyiv´s uniform.

Whilst in many others places they clearly say the [FC Start] uniform was a red shirt and white pants.

So... you choose or keep investigating. I would say the shirt has to be red

I think the safest thing would be buying a FC Dynamo Kyiv shirt with the Klimenko name written in the back. He was a Dynamo player after all. Only war changed all this.

Definetly has to be red. Might just make a red shirt and have Klimenko (in Cyrilic) written on the back with his number. Too bad they didn't have a badge. How is Klimenko and FC Start spelled in Cyrillic, anyways?

The name in Cyrillic: Олексій Клименко

Yes, the badge will be lacking. One more thing, the FC Start were in fact using the Spartak Moscow uniform (red and white thing). Therefore given that most of the players were Dynamo players and because of the uniform you might use one of these two badges. Perhaps the Dynamo would be more appropriate: city of Kiev and 8 players (out of 11) were Dynamo players

Don't forget the number 5.

I don't know where you are from but if living in Europe, wearing football t-shirts in public might be rather dangerous. Some nutters might beat the crap out of you and the "funny" part is that you would not even know why that happened...
