I've got the Matrix version of the game, has Matrix released their version of the patch yet, I don't see anything here about anything but the gamersgate patch, which I understand won't work with the Matrix game??

76, Erik said they are to release their version of the patch which will be easier to do than the patching process everyone else has gone through to make it work but if you just cannot wait I can direct you through the process of getting your Matrix version up to date.

We received a mail about an update yesterday, but we were not expecting it and have not had time to download the files and build and test installers yet. We'll get on to them as soon as we can!

That's surprising given that the update has been in the works for a while and was widely discussed here.

Thanks for all of the responses; I'm not in a huge rush so I guess I will wait until the Matrix patch is out, although it sounds like it could be a while...

I installed the Gamersgate patch over the Matrix version of the game. It works just fine - no issues.

I was rather put off by the convoluted installation instructions for the patch but I guess I will try to do it this weekend when I have more time.

The basic patch isn't too complex. It's really just two separate install steps.

1. Run the 580 update as you would any executable file and point the install patch at your Matrix APOS folder. Install 1 is done!

2. The Updater UI for Install 2 will open automatically once the 580 installer has run.

3. Click the INSTALL button (bottom left)

4. Browse the where you downloaded the Patch and drill down until you see the addpack file.

5. Select it and the patch will be installed immediately.

6. Repeat this process for the District Updates, if desired.

Let the process complete and then click SAVE AND PLAY. Top right of your main window it should say game version 580 May12 patch, or similar words.

I think the main problem is when you apply patch
the program does not have the correct path to game.
You must make sure this is correct.
The rest like Red said.

Yes, a lot of people didn't spot that the default path doesn't match the location of the Matrix install.

I works fine for me. What problems are you having?

If you are doing a re-install, I suggest that you start over and:

1. Use the uninstall exe that comes in the APOS folder to remove the program.
2. Then Manually delete the remaining files and folders after the uninstall.
3. Create a new folder for the game (I am now on 'APOS 4') and install the game fresh to that folder.

Now try running the 580 update and the May 12 patch.

Let us know if that works...

Its not bad,2 weeks on 7 days off,my own shower, toilet, good food and good pay.We are building a steam assisted gravity drainage facility, steam will be injected into the ground and heat up the hard oil deposits basically melting it then we will bring it to the surface, going from 27,000 barrels a day to 110,000.I should be here for 2 years, thats the completion target.

Especially since we can count months instead of weeks for patches and DLC now.

I don't know... the August patch looks like it's almost there already. May patch came out in June, so let's hope for August patch in July! :)

The devs seem to be very focused on this game series. I sense that it's one of their main priorities.

What was the date quoted for the Sov/Jap edition? 'Nohoman'?

I'm referring to Matrix publishing the patches and DLC. I remember reading the DLC would be available within weeks not months.

Those who have trouble with the non Matrix patch i reckon are doing something wrong when trying to install it, you don't put any folders manually into another folder, if your doing that your doing it wrong.... you download two patch files a small one and a big one, first unpakc the big one in a 7Zip file to a seperate folder. The run the small patch file, this will install when it's installed goto the game folder and run the update utility and direct it to the unpacked core folder (which was the big patch file you unpacked and is called CORE folder)choose desc file..it should then install...then click save and play..if you don't click save and play it wont install it either.

You DO NOT manually move the CORE folder patch file into the game folder..it wont work and will probably stop your game from running. As I said after running the small patch file and unpacking the big patch file run the update application in game folder, direct to unpacked CORE folder desc file..it will then install...then click save and play.

I understand that...however in the mean time try and do the patches again, it's not as complicated as it sounds. The last patch really improves on things.

I can't upgrade the first two DLC because I bought them from Strat First. This is annoying as there is no other way to upgrade them. However it was so cheap I can except it. If Id paid more I'd be peeved.

In this climate I always go where the games are the cheapest. It's capitalism I'm afraid. If Matrix are the cheapest I'd buy from them. If not I go somewhere else.
