A weak german force has to hold this ridgeline against a strong Russian assault to protect a supply road just to the west. They hope to have some reinforcement soon.

I'm trying to play balance this new scenario. This is my thrid run through after some tweaks. Some of you old board gamers might recognize the map (or map style) from a classic board game.

Thanks
Rick

Classic SL 621

And he gets it in one!

Yep! I was a fan of the Squad Leader series and have adapted some of the scenarios to PCO. Hill 621 is the latest one I've been working on.

Thanks
Rick

Just bought the game with the monthly sale. I have been busy with DC Case Blue but am keeping an eye on checking this game out. Hill 621 would likely force me to get up to try out Panzer Command Ostfront. I realized the intensity SL brought to board gaming when my English opponent (playing the Germans) spotted artillery fire on his own position atop the hill to take out my Soviet wave assault. In any case, I am intrigued by the small but intense dedication I see in the forum to this game.

Looks like a neat map. Will you put this available for us to DL to play?

Yes, once I get the play balance where I'd like it, and create a template for map so that it is available for random battles, I'll upload the map and scenario.

Thanks

Yeah, Rick, very nice. You teased us with this one a while back. I've been waiting patiently to see it re-emerge. Thanks for getting back to it.

I'd love to see this baby come out as a battle after you fine-tune it. This was one of the more intense scenarios from SL and then adapted to ASL. I spent a lot of time on that ridge trying to stem the wave of Soviets. It was all Leutnant Stahler and Sgt. Hamblem could do to rally the broken troops and try to blunt the Red Steamroller. Those SU-152 Zvierbois didn't die easily.

In this 4th iteration of the battle, the fighting at the southern tip of the Ridgeline is heating up. Reinforcements arrived just in time as that objective was just about to be overun.

My 4th playtest ended in a German Marginal victory. I decided to have just couple of more tweaks, and I updated the map so that grid lines hotkey would work and I'm playing the final playtest. If I haven't gone too far in my tweaks, this should be just about ready.

Thanks
