Had a REALLY great game going in 1.7.0.13 and upgraded to 1.7.0.14, then started to notice other star nations were designing ships and bases with no shields. Looking at the editor, older versions of their stuff had shields, so I'm assuming this started when I switched from "13" to "14". I played a few more years, but the problem has yet to correct itself. (I might add that I first noticed the problem when MY stuff started to be designed with no shields, then I set up the design fine tuning options. I now have shields again, but not my competition.)

This is an excellent game, I'd be sorry to lose it. Anyone have any suggestions?

I have the same problem on 1.7.0.16. It's the first time, I've never seen it before.

It seems to be solve if you erase all policy files .txt in Matrix Games\Distant Worlds\policy (except yours).

alien and pirates ships/bases have thier shields and weapons back.
