Hey all,

I've designed a couple new scenarios.

The first is "The Hedgehog of Piepsk"
It is a complete map and scenario conversion from ASL.
It translates and plays out pretty well. Let me know what you think.

The second is a 1000 pt. point buy scenario using the same map.
The victory hexes are changed and allow for different strategies on offense and/or defense.
If you're playing the AI, you may want to limit your spending to make it even more challenging.

Also, the mp lobby doesn't include additional firefights, so if you want to play them mp, you'll have to place the files in the Matrix/COH/data folders in the main game.

The forum would not let me include the link in this message for some bizarre reason, so just follow the link in my other post for linked firefights and it will take you there. The files are in the Piepsk.zip

Enjoy

Tell us exactly where the files go. In the future, could you pre folder the files so that people can see where they go?

There are four map files: Piepsk.hexmap, Piepsk.los, Piepsk_Detail, and Piepsk_height

I place them in Matrix Games/ Conflict of Heroes Awakening the Bear/ Data/ Maps

Then there are 2 files for each scenario

The Hedgehog of Piepsk.scenario
The Hedgehog of Piepsk (XML doc )

I place these in Matrix Games/ Conflict of Heroes Awakening the Bear/ Data/ Scenarios / Awakening the Bear
I use this folder so that the games are available to be used in the mp lobby

I asked because in the game install are folders for ATB, Custom, Frontier, Point Buy, etc.

I thought maybe the point buy files went in that folder.

In the WCS folder in My Documents, the Scenarios folder only has a Scripts folder.

So confusing...

Well, played through the Piepsk scenario and lost. I did learn some things though since I didn't read the manual. Looking forward to any others you might be designing.

I gave it a try and found the map creation process difficult. After drawing a nice 2D map, when I ran the conversion process it turned into a series of jagged peaks. Then I got distracted by other projects.

You can design maps and scenarios entirely within the editor without using the 2D input map, and that process is simpler to understand than the process that uses the input map.

Once you get the hang of it, the 2D input map is a faster map creation process, and by using some of the more excellent Photoshop/GIMP tools, offers more flexibility when reproducing maps or in creating pseudo-random maps.

Jamm, I've played the "Hedgehog of Piepsk" scenario a few times and it's quite challenging from the German side... great job!
As for the "Piepsk Buy Points", how does one get out of the buy points screen, let alone play as the Germans? There's no "done" button anywhere on the German buy points screen!
Please help me out...
