Originally posted by gmenfan David you know of the course of time and OOB changes occasionally the icon link to the proper picture gets messed up somewhere. Besides whats wrong with a truck that can drive on water? Just kidding. Before you scan in new pictures see if you can find the proper icon already within, it makes it easier to just alter the icon call out in the OOB then it is to create a new image and import it. The real expert on the Icon association and icon graphics is WARHORSE drop him a line and I promise he'll help you sort them out.
Gmenfan, I wouldn't be making any new scans. I worked on the French .LBM's about a year ago or more. I'll defintitely give the nod to Warhorse in the icon graphic arena, although I've done quite a few myself. But this doesn't involve icon associations, as you are probably very aware. It simply involves browsing the picture folder using whatever graphics viewing program one uses, finding the image that was, in the case of the AGR2, for some reason, "bumped", going into the oob editor and changing the .LBM value to 0240. Actually, the .LBM that was associated with the AGR2 always struck me as being suspicious, as it was associated with several other "minor country" soft-skinned vehicles. To me, this meant that it probably was not an actual picture of the AGR2. So, I found several pictures of the AGR2 with documentation. Being a scientist, I kind-of have to "see it with my own eyes"....That being said, after finding images that I knew to be of this vehicle, and looking at the .LBM that represented this vehicle in the game, it very well may be an AGR2 (which is .LBM P0240). Now, the Camion DCA 75mm...The actual name of this piece, according to teh documentation for French equipment in ASL is "autocanon de 75 mle 13/34". This was basically a SPAA gun. It consisted of a, "turntable-mounted mle 1897 field piece on a De Dion-Bouton auto chassis." The correct image for that weapon is P09998. JP, "No, I think I'm too lazy when it comes to fiddling with games. Really, I don't have time for that, cause I spend my time playing the game." I personally derive much more pleasure from fiddling with icons, .LBM files, map and scenario research and design than I do playing the game, as I have played this game exclusively since 1995. And since then, with the exception of some really unique "international" scenarios created by fans from other countries such as Finland and Spain, scenario "diversity" has not really progressed. People in this community such as myself, are, and always have been, marginalized by those who are only interested in "playing the game". Therefore, in light of your above statement, helping you is sort of like the Indians helping the Jamestown colonists through the "starving time". Kind of contributing to one's own future demise, isn't it? Nevertheless, I hope that I was of some help to you. Regards, David Boutwell "Out of ammunition. God save the King."
