I've had a number of problems with TFs not fully loading LCUs either in port or on an atoll following an amphibious assault. Sometimes if I unload the transports again, then reload the TF, all the LCUs will be loaded, but in some cases even repeated unloads and reloads fail to load all of an LCU on board, forcing me to sail leaving a portion of several LCUS behind. Unloads are done completely, so this problem only shows up when loading in amphibious or transport mode (it could also occur in landing craft mode, though I seldom use this). It started happening when the most recent patch kit was loaded onto a game already in progress. Several messages about (successfully) upgrading various game components during game initialization appeared, so is it necessary to scrap this game and begin again in order to solve the partial loading problem?

You might not be able to load/unload some heavy equipment in small ports/atolls. You'd need either enlarge the port of bring in unit(s) with Naval Support squads.

i've often had probs w/ complete loading of an LCU to an AmphTF, a fragment of the LCU gets left behind, usually this frag is 90% 'support' elements.

most often, this is my own fault, trying to load too many LCUs into too few ships. it sux to discover that you're unloading a BaseForce in Noumea, a significant portion of the LCU is still enjoying the surf at Pearl, or the fleshpots of Frisco.

note that when you're assigning LCUs to load to an AmphTF, the troop/cargo load factors in the TF display screen DOES NOT INCLUDE the 20% penalty for combat loading. the screen will let you think you've loaded the entire unit, but it might be a lie, your nav-ops staff have dropped the ball.

i suspect the majority of your probs derive from not having enough ships to load your forces, a minority of your probs are due to the game-engine randomly messing w/ you.

there's always gonna be some friction between TF capacity & LCU size, since each ship can only load (a part of) 1 LCU, you'll need to create a TF w/ larger capacity than the numbers would indicate, if you're loading multiple LCUs.

especially when loading out an invasion force for a major assault, you've got to check back on your point of departure, to make sure that all your stuff is loaded. mebbe some elements didn't load out, if you're lucky, you discovered this right away, & had some extra ships in port to cover this contingency.
