Empire101 - not true - nate25 installed his WIF fighter recently. I don't know maybe try getting rid of the existing one first and then uploading? Worth a try - nate25 did not have one to replace.

How did you manage that Steve?
Did you just change it and it went straight through, or did you know a way round the problem?

Empire101,

There is no problem. I just changed it - took about a minute. So, not sure why you are having a problem with it.

Actually, there is a problem with the My Profile page. After visitng the page, my browser, Internet Explorer, started running like treacle. I have had to log out, shut down the browser, and then relaunch it. It might be worth notifying Matrix of the problems you have having. They may be able to sort something out.

Best wishes,
Steve

But the Yamato is so much more than a warship. It is the spirit of a nation (Yamato is an old term for Japan for those who might not know). It has the biggest guns. It is a legend.

And we have still to see the warspite rise from the bottom of the sea to defeat a star empire alone.

Legend are beyond fact. The Yamato is legend.

Isn't Yamato a hero of the early samurai time Japan?

And Musashi a master duelist?

I don't know about that but the ships were named after Japanese provinces.

Glider bombs? Got a source for that Warspite1? The Bat glide-bomb seems to have been used in the Pacific but I haven't heard of them being used in this attack.

HMS Warspite was hit by a guided missile in the Mediterranean and I think that was the glide-bomb Warspite referred to.

HMS Warspite (and others inc USS Savannah) were hit off Salerno by the German Fritz X - the most common nickname for the German anti-ship glide bomb used in the latter half of WWII.

To be fair and since Yamato was commissioned December 18, 1941 you would have to compare the ships form that date forward.

How about damage taken in a single attack? Strike 1 Warspite

What was the longest range hit by Warspite? October 25, 1944 Yamato hit an American ship with her first savo at 20 miles

Largest scale model of the warship. Strike 2 Warspite

To be fair, when she was commissioned has nothing to do with it. A ships history is what it is in the time allotted to her so no, you do not have to accept comparison from that day forward. If you do then USS Enterprises' combat record was no better than that of USS (insert name of any aircraft carrier commissioned right at the end of the war).

Lets face it Extraneous, whichever way you slice it, whatever calculations you use, whatever rules you apply, the answer is exactly the same:

HMS Warspite is the bestest battleship ever. FACT. And I'm not even biased

I would generally say that the queen Elizabeth class were the greatest battle ships.

they fought in 2 world wars. and of the 5 ships, only 1 were lost in combat (Barham).

the other 4 was scrapped after world war 2..

they were frontline ships for more then 30 years.

Movies and tv series for Yamato (October 6, 1974 to April 7, 2012). None for Warspite

"Mirror, Mirror, on the Wall Who's the Baddest of Them All?"

Just yankin your chain

Japanese Warship Names (again)

Yamato: A province, contains Nara and points south. Also, an ancient name for Japan.
Musashi: A province, includes Tokyo.

Strike 2 - Okay, well let's try taking one for the team (well over thirty actually + mines, bombs and glider bombs) and still surviving to fight another day? Strike 3

Victory to the Grand Old Lady me thinks

Just yankin your chain

I know and I'm quite okay with that after all, all joking aside, at the end of the day, we both know HMS Warspite would have sent Yamato, Iowa, Bismarck, Richelieu and Vittorio Veneto to the bottom of the sea had they met in anger; even 5 against 1 it would have been no contest And I'm not even biased .
