I'm going to have to move a lot of escorts to the West side of Ominato now to combat the sub(s) operating there. I should have
thought of that earlier......my fault.

I don't know how well you can see this but Jim has snuck a sub into my minefield and into the port at Makassar to do an attack.

I would rather he attacked the Allied CA or the AK but at least he sunk the AM. Better than nothing.

I had some Kate's based at Canton but the AVG decimated them despite the presence of some Oscar's and I've had to stand down the
entire squadron for refit.

The damage is accumulating at Johore Bahru. I don't remember my thinking process as to why I'm continuing to attack there.

Here's another senseless attack on the Allied formations at Bataan. I've since diverted the Nell's to concentrate on Manila.

There's some P-40E's at an Allied airfield just north of Davao that insists on attacking my troops at Cebu. Looks like I need to do some
more ship-to-shore bombardment(s) to neutralize that threat.

It looks like my Sally's didn't fare too well on an unescorted raid on Malang. I'm going to have to re-think my tactics in that area.
EDIT: I have since the attack switched them to ASW work.

Okie dokie........it's Tuesday the 4th of September 2012 and I've received Jim's moves and did the combat replay etc. Here's some
combat results from 26Jan42:

Here's some Tracker alerts. It looks like I may have lucked out and sunk the Boise. It took only 1 torpedo so maybe not.

Um.......I started to do the combat results synopsis this am about 07:00 and then had a family committment come up that I had to attend to and Jim came along about 10:00+ and saw that that was all I had posted ( some Tracker screens ) and thought, I guess, that that was all I was going to post and did his posting of the combat results and now I'm back from my excursion ( 14:46 pm ) and I'm wondering what else I can post that hasn't already been covered. I guess I can do some of the air war goings on. Or something.

EDIT: My minesweeping boys finally finished clearing out that patch of mines near Bandy. I'm sure Jim has some more surprises in
other parts of the map.

Here's one report I'm glad to be able to make. Sub skipper fires four torps, one hits, and it looks like the Boise went down. She is
showing up on the sunk ships list and everything. Cool. I've got a bunch of subs running really low on torpedoes now though. Jim is
going to have to get a lot of his work done while they are in port rearming because I'm sure going to send them right back out to sea.

EDIT: I figure there's going to be a lull in the Jap sub sea coverage of about a month soon. Say two weeks in transit to port, a couple
of days in port rearming, and then maybe a couple of more weeks in transit to the action station. They may be stealthy but they aren't
very fast.

There's been a delay in my getting any AF dudes to the airbase at Davao and a lot of the Zero's have gone down for maintenance and
only a couple of them are still flyable but I did a sweep of the Alliled airbase near Davao and there was no response so I'm guessing
that maybe they are all down for maintenance too, or Jim has maybe stood them down, or maybe there's no planes there and the
mouse-over is FOW. Anyway, I'm sending the BB's in tomorrow to do some more bombardment.....recon by bombardment that always
works good.

This is the first strike on Singapore itself that I've made in quite a while. I'm not sure exactly what's there......I need to get my Bab's to
snooping around there to find out. I'm pretty sure Jim has flown a bunch of his air assets to Singers to help in the last-ditch defense.
Something holding up the moving of aircraft further south is that the airfields are damaged and I need to get some engineers in there to
repair them before I can start using them seriously. I guess there's no big hurry but I would like to see some progress in this area. I'm
hoping that Manila and Bataan will fall soon so I can use those people here in the Singers take-down but I don't see that happening
anytime soon.

I've got a lot of Nell's in Taiwan that did the lion's share of the bombing this time. Also, there's a lot of Betty's there in San Fernando
that are down for maint. That AF dude at the airbase is only V8 which isn't quite enough for the load and so I'm moving the 1st Air
Div HQ unit into the hex to help out. Then I'll have a lot of Betty's that can share the beat-down load on Manila.

Oh....I get it. This is why there was no response to my sweep earlier.......all of Jim's P-40's were on Port Attack missions. They didn't
do any damage but it is annoying. I've got two bombardment TF's there at Zambo ready to go and I'm wondering if I should combine them
into one large mission rather than two smaller ones. Anybody have an opinion? They should hit Cagayan sometime tonight or tomorrow.

Salamaua doesn't have the AF dudes support it needs to keep all the planes airborne so there wasn't the CAP available I
needed to down the intruding B-17. Shortlands also has the same problem. I'll have to ship some more AF dudes into those places.

Maybe I should divert one of those Cagayan bombardment missions to Cebu instead? I'm outgunned on Cebu and I need to keep up the
pressure so they run out of supply sooner rather than later and one bombardment mission might make a difference on Cebu. I'll do the
bombardment on Cebu just to see what difference it makes.

Things aren't looking too rosey at Port Moresby. I'm outgunned there and those guys might need a couple of ship-to-shore actions to
help even things out some. I've seperated out the damaged ships from the good-to-go dones and I'm planning on moving some more
INF into PM but some bombardments isn't out of the question either. This looks like it might be a long term engagement.

I guess Jim figured he'd get one more shot out of his guys before moving them to Pontianak. I'll probably have to chase them.

Over 8K hits already. Cool. Thanks all you guys who are keeping up with this game. I'm planning on doing more annotations and
situation reports so it's not so mysterious what's going on.

I'm finding that I've moved about 2/3 of the fuel and supplies that need to be moved so far and I'm concentrating more on moving oil
and resources to the home islands. I plan to use the fuel from Palembang and Balikpapan to keep the ships moving in the southern
areas and once Singapore and Manila are taken down, if ever, I plan on moving a bunch of troops toward Australia and the SE pacific
area. I'm giving some thought to maybe invading specific areas in India and helping my boys move westward but that's still in the
planning stages. In other words I have no idea what to do next.

I'm finding that I've moved my planes to places where they don't have sufficient AF dudes to support them and there's lots of planes
sitting on the ground needing maint. and so on. But I'm getting better organized and will have that sorted out within a couple of weeks
tops.

I've started grabbing all those atols around Tarawa just because I can but I don't know whether or not it's a good idea to turn them into
actual bases with ports and everything. I do that and Jim will just start taking them away from me using them to leap-frog forward
faster. But it would give me something to do while waiting for the other shoe to drop.

There's been a lot of air action in China but not much ground pushing and shoving. I'm having trouble developing an interest in China.
Anybody else feel that way? I dislike having to garrison the places I grab and I figure I'll run outta troops sooner if I develop a really
good push somewhere and have to garrison it as well.

I don't have a good idea of how fast I should ramp up aircraft production but I'm pretty sure I'll have to do that and pretty soon because
Jim is going to get boat-loads of planes and ships and troops and I'll be up to my ears in aligators soon enough. Other than that the
economy is going pretty good and I think maybe I still have a handle on the way it should run. That's scary. Makes me think I'm missing something important.

I've got subs in or near the ports on the northern coast of Australia just in case Jim decides to try to move something that way. Not that
he's not already moved something in there. Just from now on, I'm watching the port. I hate to micromanage each and every sub
so I give them these nit noy jobs instead.

In the PC game Empire Earth it's one of my favorite tactics to place three subs facing the enemy port and whenever an enemy
ship spawns there my subs sink it before it's moved more than a couple of pixels. Must be frustrating to the AI to have to deal with a
human who does that.

Also, I've found that if I give them my subs a patrol triangle they continually move and are harder for the Allied ASW assets to hunt down
and kill. Got that tip from Jim. I like putting my ASW assets on patrols too. Makes them look busier than they actually are.

I've found Boela to be a rich little nugget. It's not got a refinery and no light industry there so there's no reason to go easy on it and I
plan on stripping the oil and resources off there and shipping them to the home islands every now and then. Whenever it would pay to
make a trip. I wonder if there's not some more of these rich little gems in the islands around Java or somewhere. Ocean Island is
another one of these. I'm going to have to make a list.
