This has been a life-saver for me several times in my Pacific battles. An apocryphal story had a captured Japanese officer asking about the American "automatic artillery". So, it isn't completely unrealistic. This reminds me of a scene in the Vietnam war film "We Were Soldiers", in which the NVA commander says "they (the Americans) are using their artillery as a shield".

But SPWaW doesn't model 'quick-response artillery' it models 'instant-response artillery'.

You can even plot artillery directly onto fast moving vehicles!
