The 16th of December has been pretty quiet, Japanese troops have landed in Sidate ready to move on Manado.

Bombing campaign going well in Malaya and Phillipines, and reinforcements for Mersing should arrive in next few days.
Troops marching on Alor Star.

These are my first priority targets in China:-

Well I dropped a clanger by not co-ordinating the Dumanquilas/Orequieta landings, and landed at Zamboanga too soon.
Nothing to get worried about, just proves that I'm getting older and more forgetful

I can start moving engineers into Lunga/Tulagi now, and develop the bases asp, so that I can commence offensive actions further south, and help with the isolation of Moresby.

More troops land in Mersing, and the Imperial Guards et al, will be in Alor Star in two days.
Once I've got on the main road to Singers, it will make the advance much quicker.

I really want to be in Singers by the middle of January at the latest.

Manado is a strangely tough nut to crack if you don't bring the hammer. At least it's given me trouble with only one major combat unit there. I usually bring a combat engineer unit here with an SNLF, land at the dot hex and walk them over.

I had landed at Sidate ( to box them in ), but I'm going to have to bring in 144th Inf Regt to finish them off quickly.

Here in England, it continues to rain,

What kind of search are you operating in the area? Also, is your CV group flying search itself? Often they won't fly unless a group on the CV is doing some searching. Or maybe your TF movement went in the opposite direction of theirs after this sighting? Still, annoying.

Well, they were looking for transports around Balikpapan but I inadvertently extended their search.

They are on their way back to Camh Ran Bay via Balipapan now.

Yep, it was annoying

Things are trundling along, 5th Division has finally formed up in Malaya and is advancing on Georgetown with the Imperial Guards, who have had their Leader replaced....Leadership of 29 for my Favourite Infantry Div!! I don't think so!!.
They should be assaulting Georgetown in three days.
Hopefully troops will be in Johore next turn to eject the garrison there, and then I'll just roll up the whole Peninsula.

A slow advance in the Phillipines, but I'm in no rush. Just waiting for the Guards Mixed Brigade to arrive at Truk and then the Rabaul assault can begin.

A good turn for me. Pleased with progress everywhere.
Not sure whether to siege out Wenchow or just get them out of there......
I certainly don't want to kill them as I'm trying not to 'kill' any Chinese units until after Chungking has fallen, as the resultant 'drag' for supplies/reinforcements will slowly take the Chinese under.
