Turn 25.
A good day again for the german Luftwaffe.
80 losses and 301 victory.

12 recon aircraft shot down by the G55 and R2005.
And some groups of nightfighter bring down 167 B-17 by a attack on the U-factory. 34 nightfighter are lost by P47.
The production of Fw 190 A5 and A6 bring more good dayfighter.

60 victorys at Night??
Great!

Okay.
I use my nightfighter by day against heavybombers B-17 and B-24.
When i see a big and slow flightgroup, i start my nightfighter to a point where the enemy escort must return to homebase.
So i can bring 200 - 400 nightfighter to the bombergroups.
And. I start much of little groups with only 4 fighters.
So it is better to bring my fightes to the bomber.
And damaged singlebombers could i catch with FW 190 and Bf 109.

Turn 26 - 12.09.1943
Light bombers will attack an airfield in italia.
JG 27, 53 and 77, and some other fighter stop the attack.
From 68 Bombers 59 didn´t return.
But other attack came trough.
On the western front, the bomber came back to my U-boot factory.
Much B-24 and B-17.
I attack the B-24 with my nightfighter and heavyfightergroup.
So i catch 125 B-24 from 127!
The B-17 loss only 12.

Today 62 to 256.

By the way. I didn´t attack P-47 and Typhoon. Maybe later with better planes.

Wow - those are formidable casualties you are causing.

It will be interesting to see how long they are prepared to sustain such casualties.

Are you playing vs AI? Are they sending raids out of their escort range?

I'm in the long campaign as german and have got to mid december, losses are about 11k allied versus 2k german. Heavy bomber raids were very few in november and in december the weather is very bad but when the allied mounted the first big raid in december (200B17) it had heavy escort and i had big trouble in killing bombers and escorts, those P-51Bs are deadly even to FW-190A-6, I lost 40 versus 25 and that was at like 20k altitude. I have no idea how to defeat the allied bombers now, just so you know what to expect ;)

The AI is much better at playing the Germans than the allies (in BTR, other way around in BOB).

Being the attacker requires a lot more thought and fore thought.

A human will understand how to use diversions, or synergy of forces (ie bomb A/F's and Radars today to protect my important night mission tonight), as well as simply ideas such as escort your raid over its full flight, not just a heavy escort at the start and finish with nothing in the middle.

The AI just picks a target and drives straight for it with everything but the kitchen sink....needles to say that works better for the defender than the attacker.

At the moment, the heavybomber came with P47 and Spitfire as escort. In a line from Bremen to Essen, the escort fly home. At this point, i am waiting with my nightfighters. And i have many of them.
I concentrate my nightfighters from Hamburg to the Ruhrgebiet. Behind this line.
When the heavybomber make a shortdistanceattack, i let them.
The first Lightbombers Group are attacked with most of my 190 and 109. So i have 100-200 fighter on 50 bombers. For the secound attack, i have no fighter.
Its better do bring down much bombers in one attack, then less bombers in much attacks.
