Considering he has no airforce at leased with GS on down there. If u have bring ur airforce and put it on GS during his turn it could help immensly. Down sides are ofc it will be turned on all over the front so u will hafta be prepared for that. Plus if u bring ur airforce out to play he might respond in kind. If he then, which is prolly more likely, wins the airbattles and then starts to use GS himself. Well u might be in trouble. As u got a better feel for the game ur the best judge of up and down sides.

Kind regards,

Rasmus

Baku is the new Stalingrad. Not one step back!
It could be make or break down there. Is Zhukov in command?
Great AAR by the way.Possibly the best I've read so far.

Captivating AAR.... Hard to know in which situation he is but you never know, he might be at the very extreme end of his abilities and you might actually really turn this into a Stalingrad couteroffensive. You should try to probe those plains souht west of Astrakhan with cavs and see if you couldn't hurt him in the Blizzard. Bad call not leaving anyone down there to prevent hex flipping and rail destruction as it gives him more room to manouver and breathe...

Very engaging I agree. Looking at the force levels though I doubt Kamil will make much headway quickly. Kamil could you post the current OOB and Prod Pool?

Thanks

I have some planes there, but no air HQ, and air group is attached to different front than units that were engaged in combat.

I do not have enough troops for such offensive, and if I send just probing force Saper will for sure exploit it like he has shown he can.

I will do it in next burst of activity.

You can still get a draw from this at least if you play it right.

Good job man, game is at a tipping point if he doen't stop.

Mybee hes doesn't know how to set up reserves and it will be an easy drive west

I think you have a shot at a draw atleast. Attack every single hex you possibly can and start grinding.

Hows his fort belt look? Once your through that he can"t stop you for long and only after expending what mobile reserves he has.

In the center I am unable to increase tempo of up my attacks, so at the moment it is 1 per turn.

I am relatively successful in Stalingrad area, but I fear it will change once he decides to abandon assault on Baku and reinforce troops here.

Oil fields defenders were reinforced again so I was able to form yet another infantry corps. I reckon I am safe now.

I am really terrified by recovery speed of German army.

Unit count

Infantry: corps 30, divisions 243, brigades (plus 4 mt divisions, and 13 airborne brigades)
Cavalry - corps 18, divisions 4
Tank - corps 16, brigades 31
Mechanised - corps 3

Saper decided to abandon idea of capturing Baku (at least for a while) and started to move his troops towards Astrakhan.

It was happening when I still though, that keeping this port is vital for maintaining supply line to Baku.

Nothing really to be proud of - 2 attacks in the north, non in the center.

Despite new threat arising in the south-west I decided against strengthening Astrakhan area. I will do it as late as is possible, because creation of strong defensive possession would require withdrawing troops from Stalingrad what would greatly slow my advance there.

Saper sent few more infantry divisions here. No chance for my feeble offensive to gain any momentum.

Fortunately recent German reinforcements were not numerous enough, I can still undertake 2 successful attacks a turn.

I changed direction of advance to western, what prevented me from using part of the troops (screening left wing) and in consequence limited amount of attacks.

I slightly increased strength of Red Army here, once again it happened at the expense of central part of the front. Thanks to such activity in some areas my defensive line is only 1 unit deep.

Long awaited troops from Caucasus have finally arrived, and went straight into action. I think, that from now on winning battles will require commitment of many more units.

Simultaneously to counter-strike near Stalingrad Saper advanced in the south. Astrakhan is endangered.
