Here's the Port Moresby area situation. Again, I couldn't get all the information in there.....airfields have no labels for instance.

You guys are probably wondering why in the world I'm posting all this "free" intel for Jim to peruse. It's not that I'm saying he's a poor
opponent, and I'm not trying to rub my skills in his face or anything like that......it's just that he's playing the Jap side in a game against
TommyG and I figure I might be able to help him see what works and also what NOT to do. Plus, the Allies have their hands full in the
early years and I figure the extra "help" might give me a better game in the long run.

Okie dokie....it's Tuesday 25Sep2012 08:31 am and I'm in possession of Jim's latest moves. Tracker says I had some LCU's that finally
reached Kluong and so I looked and what'd'ya know there's three units there in Kluong. The Infantry unit I'm sending to Johore Bahru
and one of the ARM units I'm sending to capture Mersing. The other ARM unit will attempt to make it's way into Singapore to take a look around and do some recon.

Tracker said that the 4th INF Rgt arrived at Cebu and I looked and yep...it did but it too is out of supplies. D'oh. I'll have to send them
a convoy of groceries and bandaids and see if I can't get them to make some progress.

Tracker says that Jim lost two ships and I lost three. D'oh. Also, Chengtu is showing up on the Tracker Alerts list as having grown a
new level for it's airbase, but I looked at the map and Chengtu is still in Allied hands so I'm wondering what gives.

Here's the latest Tracker economic chart. The Oil Refinery non-producing number is still rather high because I have some refineries
that need to be repaired yet and the Palembang refineries are still turned off pending the withdrawl of some of the fuel onsite still.

Here's a report on the spoilage and you can see that Palembang is the worst offender still. I'm running AK's and TK's in and out of there
pulling the fuel level down but even with the refineries turned off the level is still way too high.

Here's the resource history for the home islands so far. [ I've deleted the Tracker databases and started over because of the longer
and longer load times at startup. ] I'm not sure but I think maybe I'm doing okay so far on the economy.

According to this Tracker report, the greatest majority of the repair work on facilities has to be done on cities in the home islands. This
is because of the bump-up's I did to increase production of aircraft and so on. I'll have to take a look around and see if I can't rearrange
the engineers to those specific cities that need them.

Here's a list of the specific industries in those cities that need to be repaired yet. I'll have to see that they each have an engineer
before too much more time passes.

The xAP Huso Maru got torpedoed so the PB Shonon Maru #15 aborted it's mission and started to return to Mili but I'm going to
re-direct him to go to Truk instead. I need him to fuel up and patrol those waters where he lost his escortee to see can he find
that sub and kill it.

SS Triton strikes again. That makes two of my ships hit near the same spot. I'm going to have to assign some ASW to that area and
beef up the escorts more.

for long.

I-172 got lucky and got an Allied AO this morning. She has 10 sys damage and only 1 torpedo left so I think I'll send her home for
rearm and refit.

Jim has obviously moved his P-40's from the Cebu area to the northern PI area. I'll have to make some adjustments and counter that.
I have some Zero's at Davao that I can move north.....let's see what happens when they arrive.

Here's a second strike on Manila this morning. I've stood them down to rest them a bit and give the Zero's a chance to sweep up the
P-40's a little bit.

I don't usually report on the attacks that happen in China because they don't make a very pretty picture for the AAR but this attack
had some losses and so I thouight I'd give it a whirl. Most of the attacks in China are by me against the Chinese and are really one
sided and very little damage but this one is by the Allies. Cool.

Jim has his PBY's doing double duty as he uses them as bombers again. 10 of them this time no less. I have some AF dudes headed
to location code named Mollman and they should arrive there within a week or less. Then I can send some CAP to take down some of
those PBY's.

AFTER ACTION REPORTS FOR Feb 04, 42
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In Larry's PBEM e-mail he pointed out my subs were finally getting some hits.
Its the same ship hit twice, but not too many casualties for an AP

Japanese Ships
xAP Huso Maru, Torpedo hits 1, heavy damage
PB Shonon Maru #15

Allied Ships
SS Triton

Japanese ground losses:
8 casualties reported
Squads: 0 destroyed, 0 disabled
Non Combat: 0 destroyed, 0 disabled
Engineers: 0 destroyed, 1 disabled
Guns lost 1 (1 destroyed, 0 disabled)

Submarine attack near Truk at 115,105
Japanese Ships
xAP Huso Maru, Torpedo hits 1, on fire, heavy damage

Allied Ships
SS Triton

Japanese ground losses:
22 casualties reported
Squads: 1 destroyed, 0 disabled
Non Combat: 0 destroyed, 0 disabled
Engineers: 0 destroyed, 0 disabled

This AO had a DD escort, Where is it? The World Wonders...

Submarine attack near Palmyra at 170,133
Japanese Ships
SS I-172

Allied Ships
AO Ramapo, Torpedo hits 2, heavy fires, heavy damage

AO Ramapo is sighted by SS I-172
SS I-172 launches 4 torpedoes at AO Ramapo

No escort, same result...

Submarine attack near Geraldton at 48,141
Japanese Ships
SS I-158

Allied Ships
xAK Pellicula, Torpedo hits 3, on fire, heavy damage

I'm doing ok in my other game vs. TommyG, its the stock version of the game so there are some differences in playing.
Understandably he has done a Sir Robin defense and I had to scout out where he went to hide. He abandoned Balikpapan and Tarakan -so no damage there when I captured them.
I found him at Broome and Derby - bombed them both with 2 of my 3 CVTF's and retired to refit.
I am unloading fuel as fast as I can from Balikpapan due to spoilage, but his contribution is to place around 10 subs in the straights there, I have 5 ASWTF's working there along with escorts.

I sent a SCTF of 2CA,3CL and 4DD's to Suva to scout TF's reported to be there. . . The battle there cost me a CA & CL, BUT scout planes told he has 2 CV's refitting there (he admitted it to me) but I have no CV's in the area, and thought about a kamikaze run at Suva's port, but I left it and returned the ships to Rabaul for repair. That's pretty much it for that game.

combat results I just went to take a nap.....been up since just after 03:00 and my eyes were blurring. It's 15:12 now and I feel as
good as new and ready to get something done. So I guess I'll keep going from where I left off.

My Zero's are doing sweeps over Cagayan and there's no response. This is what's called a "clue" that nobody is home. I highly
suspect that Jim has moved them north and is using them to shoot down my bombers. I've, since this attack, moved the Zero's north
too and I'm guessing the air war in the PI will change character, again.

An attack on the troops at Port Moresby and again, no damage listed. I'm hoping these attacks are causing disruption at least. Maybe
I'm flying the wrong kind of attack or something. Lemme check....no, they are set for ground attacks so I'm guessing I need more planes
aloft or something to get some damage listed as a result of these things.

I did just about the same - I lasted until 2pm then crashed til just before 5pm, still feeling sluggish from the head cold I guess. I appreciate your leaving tidbits OPSEC wise for the readers, but if I look it will make me feel like I cheated to win. I did look once and still bugs me about Singkawing... So I'm just skipping forward when your posting OPSEC. Trying to keep it fair, once 1943 hits it will become a very different game...

I was reading on another AAR, where someone made a comment about "imposter" AAR's where people were trying to "style" thier AAR's like the one I was reading. My response is Ummm- DUH! Isn't imitation the sincerest form of flattery? I have my favorite AAR's and have used comments and knowledge gained from them to improve my skills in this AAR. I always try to give credit where its due, and I faithfully read between 5-10 other AAR's here. Now I wasn't called out or named as doing this - but it struck me as weird since I'm a newbie AAR player, ego wise wouldn't you want someone to like what you do enough to copy your "style"?
