Hello all,

Question.

This file is in the main distant worlds game folder itself.

The "'hyperdrivespeed" command inside this file, what is it's exact function?

I've changed the value several times and can't see any change in the game at all.

I remember reading a post on here stating that the limits are between 1 and 3, but I can't find that post now :(

Any ideas?

wow, I did not know one can edit this file
Why would you want to change the hyperdrive speed anyways?

It makes the distances between stars seem much greater. More strategic planning is required. Smaller fuel tanks might have similar effects.

I can't find that post now either. I'm not even sure if it was in the modding forum.

I remember playing around with the values and it did have some small impact, but there really was no point in changing it. At least not that I could see.

It was hoped that it would slow down the ships and make the exploration phase of the game longer. It didn't really do that though. I can't remember what effect it had, but it wasn't very noticeable.

I don't think this had its own thread at all,but might have been referenced in an AAR as a response to the game playing to fast for a properly epic feel. Someone mentioned having adjusted this value or simply that you can adjust this value. Igard did you experiment with this in the Archer mod?

That post you're referring to Igard concerning the hyperdrive speed setting in Startup.ini is here:
