In case you haven't heard (and care), Disney has bought Lucas and is now working on Star Wars episode 7. After the underwhelming 1,2,3 I don't know that I'm too excited anyway.

After Lucas' tweaking with the original movies and making the lackluster prequels, I think this may be a good thing.

Its time for new blood in that franchise. I had given up hope for a decesnt Star Trek movie but lo and behold they made another with fresh faces and it breathed new life into the franchise.

Lucas has no new ideas, forgotten what character development is and over-relies on CG effects.

ugh ! stop talking about Pearl harbour ! They even managed to screw the cgi of the attack scene.

I'm not much of a Star wars fan - but I don't think Disney will make it any better. What it needs is to go a lot darker like the remake of Battlestar Galactica I think

The left wing social justice person in me says $4.05 Billion?? WTF??? How many peeps could we feed with that kind of money and wipe hunger forever!

Yes but Lucas is donating the vast majority of it to charity. Hopefully it's a charity that is efficent with the use and doesn't waste most of it as some do but it's going to education. He got about 2 Billion in cash and 2 Billion in stock and he's donating "Billions" of it to charity so stop your complaining social justice!!!

Timothy Zahn wrote a concluding trilogy for Star Wars that was well written and would have made great scripts for 7, 8, & 9 but I heard Disney was going to use only original material and set it 20 years in the future (after Return of the Jedi). I think that's a mistake. Zahn picked up with the defeat of the Emperor and chronicled the collapse of the Empire.

Oh well....

Yes. Walt Disney decide to star Ben Affleck as a pilot who singlehandedly destroys the Empire and rescues the fair princess. Seems to fit both Star Wars and Walt Disney. Ben Affleck is then celebrated as the savior of the race of the cuddly puppies.

Never to return is the darker story from 'The Empire Strikes Back'.
