Kandy House. Quite nice...but do you have a bidet?

Pity really. They spent all that money on the ceilings and cannot furnish the place, save for one lousy chair. Honestly, Lord Admiral, I do wish you'd think these things out a bit in advance.

Oh Chickenboy, did you think that was a room?

In fact it's the corridor to the servant's quarters - the chair is for the geriatric butler - the long walk gets a bit much for him these days

Actually, it's the walk to the stables. The servants wouldn't get anything that nice.

Right. I found the servants' entrance and corridor pictures online:

ETA: Lord Admiral-a protocol question, if I may? Why the overhead beam support? Seems a bit of unnecessary luxury.

Doors are expensive, seems a shame to waste one.

Simply amazing an officer would allow himself to be photographed with such an unacceptable gig line!

Well, the fellow on the left seems to have a blob of marinara sauce from his canneloni at lunch....and he seems to be in civvies too. One is supposed to be the Lt. Commander and the other an Lt.??

Neither one is likely to be selected as CO of a carrier taffy by the AI.

By ra way..after looking at the map from Valentine's Day, I discover LYB tankers at Samarinda. Subs will close in.

There are a couple of Bn of 145th RCT at Sidate.

Columbia made it safely back to Boela without sinking.

Unladen landing craft at Sidate are transfering 503rd PIR(-) back to Ternate where it will be used to seize a LYB base in the gap between Sulawese and Mindanao.

The stream of transports headed for Ceylon is headed across the IO.

Things are looking good.

This, of course, means something bad will happen.

Sorong: The IJN gets frisky. Atago is immortal. The crew must also have an experience rating of 90. Atago was in each of the 32 naval battles of Port Hedrand.

CA Aoba, Shell hits 1
DD Kiyonami, Shell hits 1, on fire
DD Samidare

Allied Ships
DD Chevalier, Shell hits 2, on fire
DD Nicholas, Shell hits 5

Anticipating something like this. I had flown in a TBF replacement squadron from Darwin. No air HQ at Boela, or maybe it's Kai-elanden, so they dont have torps.

Afternoon Air attack on TF, near Sorong at 82,107

Weather in hex: Light cloud

Raid detected at 40 NM, estimated altitude 12,000 feet.
Estimated time to target is 19 minutes

No Allied losses

Japanese Ships
CA Atago, Bomb hits 3
CA Aoba

Aircraft Attacking:
26 x TBF-1 Avenger bombing from 10000 feet *

A couple of APD's on ASW duty wander over to see what the noise is about..d'oh. Children, we are professionals. DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME!

CA Aoba
DD Kiyonami
DD Samidare

Allied Ships

APD Kennison, Shell hits 6, heavy fires, heavy damage

Softening up time on the LYB ground forces at Sorong. Atago's raid is a week too late. There is already 3 USMC Regt ashore plus M-10's, Stuarts and combat engineers.

India: Some Oscars trying to break the world altitude record for powered flight tangle with the Arries. Maybe too many Wheaties or it is a "keep Admirar Rord SPrior honest" raid, forcing him to keep a CAP over Indian bases.

Burma: The Chindit Brigade closing on Myitkynia has been unequivocally spotted. I think we will need a more robust LRCAP

Morning Air attack on 77th Chindit Brigade, at 63,41 (Warazup)

Weather in hex: Heavy rain

Raid spotted at 19 NM, estimated altitude 8,000 feet.

No Allied losses

Allied ground losses:
47 casualties reported
Squads: 0 destroyed, 3 disabled
Non Combat: 1 destroyed, 2 disabled
Engineers: 0 destroyed, 1 disabled

Tenth Air Force attacks Myitkinia. Evidently, a few crews "did not get the memo" as the enthusiasm seems lacking.

Morning Air attack on 112th Infantry Regiment, at 64,42 (Myitkyina)

Raid detected at 79 NM, estimated altitude 12,000 feet.
Estimated time to target is 27 minutes

Never heard of it. Do provide a review when you return, old boy.

It's about some Secret Service chappie in Istanbul. Apparently he goes to work on the London Underground (very unrealistic, the Secret Service chappies I know all drive Bentleys). Then he has a fight with a bloke who I think might be a bit of a brown hatter. Then he meets some floosie called Emma.

Hmmm...I could see how that would get confusing. Would that be Lords Admiral, Lord Admirals or Lords Admirals?

Bloody titles...

Bulgarian airbags

Saw a pair this morning at the hospital. I was minding my own business trying to enter some useless data in the @*#(#(@(@ electronic medical record when this woman next to me bends over to get something out of her briefcase/bag thingy and a pair of impossibly perky Bulgarian airbags nearly leap out of her shirt. There also seems to be no other restraint device of any description either.

I purposely put the chair leg on my left big toe and say to myself "Don't look at the headlights". When she gets back up to work on the computer I ask, "Hi, I'm Dr. Mandrake, are you one of the new residents?"

Despite the pain now flooding my brain from my toe I can't help but notice the get up is seriously inappropriate for a hospital. Wait till the Sisters see this.

She answers, "Oh, no I'm the new breast feeding instructor"

Well, at least the kids will be well fed. And have parents that are very attentive to the lessons. Particularly the fathers.

Question for the board regarding correct application of 'jackspeak' -

Is it proper usage, in this case, to refer to the above pilot as a 'right cheeky bastard', or would that only apply if was one of your opponent's pilots who had pulled off a credited kill outnumbered 33 to 1? I'm unsure if its sporting to apply this type of commentary to your own blokes...
