Niiiice!

15 Jakes corresponds to more than the likely scout plane load for Chikuma [4], Nachi [3], and 2 CLs with 1each. FOW anyone?
Of course the Jakes could have been destroyed directly by the bomb hits or fires, but if fires got that bad the ship likely went down too.

Edit - corrected seaplane load figure for the cruisers.

I am redirecting our ships back towards this group. I want to kill more of his troops and ships. I told Koniu that I had already won the battle for the northern Marshall's. Couting the 2 IDs that I have roughed up, ships sunk, planes shot down, and how much supply and fuel he has burned. I wonder how he is going to take it.

Bombed AFs are closed. I am trying to burn his supply by bombing the AFs. This turn I will send in a few groups to bomb his troops and see what happens. I know from watching him bomb my bases, that the bombings will burn my supply and then I will start having alot of disablments. I am hoping that this is starting to happen. We will see.

Cat's fly and try to launch some TTs at a BB TF that has been moving around. No hits and we lose one Cat.

bombed. My CAs are moving along now. I have DDs as ASW leading the wounded ships home. Yesterday, I spotted a hord of subs moving towards them. I am trying to direct the CA's away from the oncoming sharks.

Jap sub attacks an AM. The AM gets 14 hits. 2 penetrating hits and an internal explosion message.

Right now reconning for weak points. It looks like Koniu has started to build up the Timor area.

Koniu set a CAP trap. Well over a hundred fighters. Alot of my bombers go in unescorted and in packets. We lose 12 Hudson's, 6 B17F's, 6 Blenheim IV's, 5 beaufighers, 5 P38's, 3 Wellington's, and 2 P39's. Koniu loses 18 Tojo's, 13 Nick's, and 13 Oscars. I am sweeping again next turn with more fighters. I think were both up to no good. I figure he is working on his operation in the Marshall's and building up his defenses. I am moving forward with several operations. I am hoping to kick them off within the next several months. Hopefully before his Marshall operations.

From the looks of my recon, he looks pretty strong in alot of places. He has to be weak somewhere. I just need to find his weak spots. I can't wait to get my new toys. 15 days and the Corsairs start rolling off the assembly lines.

Do you have more than one group of heavies in Burma-India? Port Morseby field level? I'm board as the emporer is in China and turns are far and few between. Love to see the New Guinea area as well as Burma AO and heavy locations. At the point you are in I began to close his airfields from the outside in and was able to establish beachheads behind his Front line trace. GEEEEEZZZ I want a turn in my in box!

I ask about the heavy dispositions as this time around I want to send one group from the Pacific to the far east to augment the USAF group there until the B29s arrive in '44. I think I may have been able to "jump start" the Burma offensive by at least six months with another 36-40 Liberators in theater. It only took 90 days to force his aircraft out of Burma with the P47s and P38s. With the additional heavies this time I will have more options and IJ will get very uncomfortable in central Burma much earlier.

I just looked back a bit, I forgot about Port Morseby. I assume you meant squadrons, I guess the B17s from the PI staged to Burma and is your added group. I'm glad to hear that they are able to close fields and that two groups may be enough. With the one group of USAF B24s in the OOB and the hard to replace RAF versions I could not keep anything down, he was able to shuffle around way to easily on me.

I closed 2 AFs in Burma in 2 days. Of course letting 2Es going in at 6k helps a lot also. I like the B25s really well.

For the last 2 days Koniu has been talking about building his defenses and managing his economy. Will have to figure out if his economy is in danger.

I'll let Koniu have Baker if he wants it. But he will pay for a quick and easy conquest. I will bomb him to death. I don't think Baker will be worth it to him. All he is doing is taking away one of my OP's. Baker can't be used for much besides an OP.

Just to show you I am lurking :) It is a great base for the IJ to project patrols .. a Mavis squadron on Baker can see into mutliple shipping lanes as well as catch surface combat traffic ... however at this stage of the game I am not sure how long this base will last under 4E pressure ...

2 YMS's on pickett detail are sunk by Jap patrol AC. The only TF I see now is a SAG and it, and it has moved 8 hexs northeast from its last postion. Koniu is either raiding my SLOC, setting up a pickett force for the invasion of Maloelap/Wotje or he's going after Johnston Island. I kinda hope its the latter. Wotje is swept by Zeros but find nothing.

The 2 CA that were damaged several days ago have made it to PH and are in the shipyards. One will be out for 80 days the other will be back in Jan 43.

One SAG run into Rangoon Harbour and finds nothing. They pass up 1 TF of 4 LB. On the way out the hit 2 TFs made up of LBs sinking 7 of them. Koniu moved his ships to Pegu. He now has bombers at Rangoon. Our other SAG dosen't commit to the battle. I am going to withdraw the 2 TFs back home. I am going to break off a few DD's and set a trap just south of Akyab. Let see if he bites.

MKB attacks a fast transport of AVD's. They sink one outright the other 2 I will scuttle. I will move my carriers 3 hex SW of Johnston Island. I have a transport TF NW of Johnston. They will be LRCAPed from Johnston. I am also sending out several groups of YMS's as picket ships. DB's from Johnston Island are also on alert to attack anything that comes within range. Intel on the MKB is 75 fighters and 112 bombers. TF is heading NE after my transport TF, they should be within LRCAP range by the morning.

I'm smelling an ambush. Why would he send something other than the KB this close to PH and out of his own search arc's? Smacking a few of his carriers would be nice but I don't know, I have a bad feeling about this.

Any thoughts.

I just think he's fishing. You upset him in the Gilberts early and I think he lost his balance in mid Pacific. I love the turns which spin in your mind all day and cause a little hesitation to open.

MKB is sticking around. I don't understand this. Is he trying to figure out were my cariers are or what? 3 days this TF has been in no mans land. I have ships out looking for a possible ambush from the KB but haven't found it. I guessed wrong last turn were the MKB was traveling. Intel has it traveling towards Wake right now. I do have an AO dropping off fuel, so that is a possible. My CVs are slowly closing in on the MKB. I just don't know what Koniu is doing with this TF in no mans land?
