44-2-29: The IJAAF redeployed to Chiangmai to suppress my units. But did not continue ground support at Sinabang! So allies reduced the fort to 0!!!!!!

This is my first consolidated Screenprint report. I admire Dennishe AAR photos.
44-3-4:
I tried to cover an invasion off Little Andaman but not all my planes did fly on my CVs...review underway...

Waiting for the turn to see the damage. Probably lost 3 AKAs, some xAPs and 2/3 LSTs. Also possible to have lost the Illustrious. Enemy sub patrols more than expected and put a torp into Stropshire...

FatR has routed my expedition into the Bay of Bengal. I did not bring enough CV airpower.
I will lose over 1000 vps on this issue. pisser.

It has been a while since last post. I am not happy w/ my performance as I suspect I have handed FatR about 1000vps by negligent naval action around the sinabang area. I did lose one essex CV and 2 CVEs w/ no gain except resupply into Car Nicobar.

From the CRs below you can see FatR has started shock attacking his cut off Burma army. I expect to milk another 3000VPs out of this jap loss.

Moving forward I wanted to probe the defenses at toungoo. So this is the results of last turn. we are back to 2 day turns.

Today FatR made an amphib move on Gasmata based from Rabual. Unknown to FatR USN had a barge resupply TF headed for Gasmata w/ a cover flotilla of DDs commanded by Arleigh Burke. In addition 2 SCTFs one hex south of Milne are also available for action. IJN is operating w/ 5x CAs and alot of Es. Atago is reported sunk. Weak allied air response. 2xPT Tfs at Gasmata caused the amphibs to abort one hex south of Gasmata uncovered. this will allow the A. burke TF to engage next turn before the IJN can react..

to Quote FatR.
quote:

See, dumb mistakes like not setting the threat tolerance for an invasion TF to "Absolute" is the reason I often spend too much time on turns. My attention to details isn't naturally good, so I prefer to double-check everything. It seems that the counterattack caught the Allies off-guard, but I've wasted this chance...

In this new turn the allies made a counter invasion at Umboi Island. Looks like the Myoko has taken alot of damage...

Turn was bad for SBDs as I forgot to restrict range and the better pilots attacked into Rabaul..I must have lost 60 SBDs for no good. FatR and I both are having to take more time to make a turn as 1944 progresses and we both have massive amounts of units.

While FatR sent his surface TFs from Rabaul to Shortlands to stop my unloading I landed a division plus at Finchshaven.

Comment from FatR email:
quote:

Станислав Бартошеви

Tanaka's squadron got lucky again, but I wonder why your CAP was rather weak this turn. Not even any fighters at the newly captured base. That said, I did a dumb mistake, forgetting to switch some squadrons from training to attack, and too much of your invasion force seems to have unloaded by now, and I wonder if it is theoretically possible to save Finschafen against 500+ AV with tons of armor...

Regards, Stanislav.

The IJA China army is in Burma.

The Burma IJA has been destroyed.

I expect to lose the game and have to give FatR a marginal victory, but I will try for a draw. Note on chart below I am just now getting out of 2-1 auto jap victory before the end of 44.
