@nasvillen

I've been considering WitP AE for the last couple years. I've sent the son off to college this year and I believe I deserve this treat.

You're a hell of a salesman... tell the truth..are you a used car salesman

PS your forum icon is great... loved the klingon disruptors.

I was a bit annoyed at how cheap it was going for - then realised our office server came via the UK and it was in Pounds!!!!!

Cheeks make sure you buy it, its value at twice the price.

Is there an advantage to having 2 copies?

Give to an unsuspecting friend, challenge them to a PBEM almost instantly and take him (or her) to task.

Cheeks, You think you should thank me... But you life will never be the same!

BTW, I am GIS Analyst (Data pusher) and have a hard time selling my own used vehicles, let alone someone else's...

Thanks for the props on the Avatar, I am a senior staff member at ADB and the company provided that image for me.

Assuming you'd like a serious answer: no need for two copies. You can have as many installations on one computer as you'd like (very helpful for testing beta versions, installing mods, etc.).

Nice initiative, nashvillen

Some people have purchased an extra copy or two just to give Matrix and the Devs a bit more revenue. Nice way to express gratitude for this great game and to support the companies. Advantage could be that one day we may see a WitP 2...?

But whether you plan to buy one or several copies - don't hesitate!

This game gives the best bang for your buck - take that from someone who works for a games dealer .

Costs per playing hour enjoyed are what - a cent or less?

But caution - highly addictive!

On the button LST. I think AE should carry a Health Warning:

WARNING: This game is highly detrimental to your sanity, health, any serious relationships and your dog. Be Warned.

Concur...

I got a free copy for being a beta tester for AE WITP.

Then I went ahead and purchased another copy to give Matrix my support, and to have a backup in case of an apocalyptic event.

Is AE really a stand alone addition now? I seem to remember years ago when AE was first released you needed to have the original WITP installed. I am thinking about taking advantage of the sale. Not sure yet... I know it's great but soooo much to do...lol

What you say was proposed in the WITP forums by Matrix management and was thunderously shouted down by the faithful. Matrix had the code re-worked pre-launch. AE has never required WITP in order to install and play.

As for the sale if you're interested I'd go for it. Matrix does not deep discount. And once you have it you can get into it as quickly or slowly as you want. It's not going anywhere and this forum will still be here in ten years.

+1 to what the Moose said. I bought AE when it first came out and haven't touched another game since. Not even tempted. AE is simply the best value out there.

The others here are correct...WItP AE is very economical when you consider the amount of game play you get. I have put at least 2,000 hours into my current PBEM game much less the previous 3 or 4 games that I played earlier. Just make sure that your the type of person who will like this game...it is massively detailed.

If you are not a logical thinker and are not detail oriented go play and FPS or something.

Thanks... on my Christmas list... I know it's worth it. (wow!!! All these years I was thinking it was not a stand alone program )
plus there are some smaller scenarios like Quadalcanal if the BIG BOARD seems too much!
