And the overall gameplay next to the last Close Combat games released?

Might be a bit early for this question, but by all means, take your time in answering it if you haven't yet formulated an answer...

Not looking for any of the old chestnuts in this thread (AI is terrible, blah blah), just what other CC lovers think about this game compared to the last few releases regarding the battles, operations, campaigns and content.

I'm playing through the historical campaign as German right now, about 2 days in. Plenty of challenges and setbacks keeping me interested.

One thing I note is that you can assign support assets, and if you don't use them, they carry over. This means I always allocate them fully in each turn, and then just don't use them if I don't need to. Why leave them unallocated when they can instead be "on-call"?
