...is still going on. Just installed the latest beta patch (.22b). And after that I get a 'newer version (1.06.19)' message whenever logging in. But not before...

AFAIR that function checks for the latest official update, not Betas.

Agreed, it doesn't have to encourage people to install beta patches. But it shouldn't 'complain' about versions newer than the recommended one either.

It's part of what you have to live with as a user of public betas. We don't change the server version until there is a new official version. Probably could have been coded differently, but it's not a horrible thing to be reminded that you're using a version that is not the last official version. Sorry for the inconvenience.
