Some things I've noticed while using the UV editor that I hope are fixed/addressed in WitP.
1) Nationalities/Service Branches: There are currently 11 nationalities/service branches IJ Army, IJ Navy, US Navy, US Army/Air Force, US Marine Corps, Australia, New Zealand, UK, France, Netherlands & China. The problem is that Australia, New Zealand, Britian, France, Netherlands, China & India (added for WitP) need to be divided into Army, Navy (probabley not China), Air Force and Marines (Britian only) like the U.S. armed forces. As things currently stand with UV all created LCUs are Army (i.e. leaders with the RAAF rank of Air Commodore assigned to a RAAF HQ will switch to the rank of Brigadier General) and all Air Units are Air Force, (i.e. the three squadons on the HMS Victorious (in UV) have RAF aircrews when they should be FAA).
2) Missing Ranks: The IJN currently have (in UV) enlisted ranks which are missing for the allies. An US Navy Ensign did not command LCMs or LCVPs (which is who is assigned in UV, I know I'm nitpicking ;) coxswains did (PO3, PO2 & PO1) if a commission officer was assigned to a LCM or LCVP it was as 'Boat Officer' in charge of a group of them. Missing also is the rank of Commodore for the Royal and Commonwealth Navies, and if you're going to create a new rank list for Royal Navies, then you should replace Lieutenant, Junior Grade with Sublietenant and Ensign with Midshipman. Also missing are from the Royal & Commonwealth Air Force are Sergeants and Flight Sergeants who also flew aircraft, some RAF bomber crews were made up entirely of NCOs.
3) Missing unit types:
Infantry: Glider borne Infantry Regiments & Battalions, Commando, RM Commando, Ranger Battalion & Independent Company.
All the other units seem to be covered.
4) Available Slots: I hope there are a lot more slots available in the editor for creating new units & leaders. As it stands now in UV if every ship, air unit and LCU had a leader assigned, 1999 slots would not be enough.
Well keep up the good work :) Can't wait to get my hands on WitP :D
PS General Data base suggestions:
Names would sort better if they were entered last name first i.e. instead of A. Smith have it read Smith, A.
Figuring out which Allied ships belong to who would be easier if HMS, USS etc.. were added to the ship name.
