Mac owners can try several things:

#1
BootCamp

#2
Parallels

#3
Virtualization (VirtualBox or VMWare)

I'm running WitE on the BootCamp/Win7 installation of a 2011 Macbook Air.

I have not tried the other options as (1) BootCamp will provide you with 100% of the hardware performance your Mac hardware offers and (2) I do not see any need to run games in a virtual environment like Parallels or VMware fusion (there is, for example, an advantage in doing so if you use applications that require you to directly exchange data between the Mac and the Windows application).

In any case, Parallels should also be able to access a BootCamp installation (I haven't tried it because of the reasons above), if necessary, meaning you can have both options when you pick BootCamp.

The BootCamp installation was extremely straightforward for me (thumbs up, Apple, for this!). You do need a Windows license, of course (same for Parallels) and you need to reboot the system if you want to switch. Since my MBA has an SSD drive, even booting into Windows 7 doesn't take long, booting back into MacOS takes around 10 seconds.

Hope this helps!
