Raid Map:

For today I even have some night intruders making a wall for Bomber Command

There are 3 must hit raids today orleans rail, Chateaudun PRI AF and Chartres PRI AF

The air field between them hold about 200 planes currently and as I keep saying I want to push them back to the other side of the river

Mission report:
Everything that could go wrong today did raids got seperated from their escorts

The mauraders take a pounding miss the target altogeather and then get chased down by the planes they just bombed while their escorts watch.

Heavey AA is making a mess of my planes at least half my bombers will not be flying on the 19th

18 Marauder's. Up till now I had lost only ten. Tricqueville had 37 HAA and the Marauders could not get high enough to get above the AA (My Mistake). Needless to say it will be a few days before they are back in the air. All took massive morale hits. Most are below 50% now will need to be more selective with there targets from now on as HAA is becoming a major problem. My Opponent is moving HAA to most troops and airfields. By the time the 1st June comes along and I go all out on troops I can expect to have at least half my airforce down with some kind of damage.

Stupid p-38J lightnings on a FS decided to take on one of the most well defended airfields, 10 planes taking damage every attack run and the damaged planes limpimg back get shot down by roving enemy planes. Good thing is they still managed to kill about 15 enemy fighters.

Camp Score:

AC Destroyed: 534 / 18 = 29
Target Damage: 677 - 5015 / 18 = 241
Area Captured:
Total per day: 270

AC Destroyed: 816 / 18 = 45
Troop Strength: 19611 - 28843 / 18 = 512
Ready Aircraft: 1399 - 1729 / 18 = 18
Total per day: 575

At the moment points are running at a 300pt defecit. I hope that after the invasion that Area Captured point will start to kick in big time as I am running out of Target Damage targets that are easy to hit.

Today is all about revenge:

B-17 going in above his HAA 32100 feet, Hopefully I get enough hits to put Tricqueville repair shops out of action as it's currently holding 130+ planes. I also want to prove to my opponent that an airfield that close to my bases is not a safe place to base his aircraft.

B-24's going on a milk run to hit his PRI AF at Monchy-Breton another close in field that has no AA or planes at the moment. (I hope he has the balls to try and move planes here this turn). The second raid is going after troops near by the AF this is a test to see how much damage only a few guns can do at 28000 feet.

A few low down test raids with Typhoon IB on fields with only HAA to see if I can slip in under his gaurd. If this works expect to see a lot of single Mosquito squadron's on his biggest PRI AF

Day 20;

Word for today is PRI AF. No rail attacks at all today by daylight bombers.

light medium working belgium

Heavy's working on the PRI AF above paris if they dont have HAA they are a Target. Building score while not lossing too many bombers that I will need soon enough.

Day 21

PRI AF's Again, 3 of the main targets have Aircrafte on them. These are prep raids for day 22's raids on the rail and PRI AF around paris. Main targets will be the ones I have not hit yet.

Back in bussiness my opponent was being smart he has been saving the file in a diffrent slot and then clicking end turn and saving it in the correct slot.

So I now have a working file again.

On we go

Talking with my opponent he is not really enjoying this game at the moment. hope he changes his mind when the allies invade.

I think its all hard work for the Luftwaffe player in this scenario, more a case to set this as a training run against the AI than a PBEM.

In my wildest dreams I would love to see this being a campaign from Jan 41 thrugh to May 45.

He has changed his tactics once or twice but he has yet to try and hit my short raids in force. My deep raids have a 1:1 fighter/bomber mix where the short raids sometimes have a 1:5 ratio. If he got onto 1 of these I could loss a bunch of planes real fast.

My big advantage in this scenario is that I have few targets that really tax my fighters legs a few delays here and there for the thunderbolt 6, but I always have losts of cover all the way to the target and back.

Any Luftwaffe player will find it hard once the allies have a 1:1 ratio in planes.
