my CA/DD BombardmentTF has been happily traveling upriver from Muntok to Palembang for awhile now.

but I just noticed something, to the left of the almost-red dot in the screen-grab:
Direct Route Ordered (!!)

what the devil is meant by that (!!) notation? I've never seen it before.

In the "Set TF Routing" field there is only room enough to spell out either routing choice or threat tolerance selected. If you have selected both the double !! graphically reminds you have selected both.

Indeed I had changed the CA/DD BombTF's threat tolerance to Absolute - some turns ago when this TF (only 3CAs & 2 Brit DDs at the time) started shuttle-bombarding Palembang, aerial recon had detected IJ TFs in the target hex. I was pert' sure they were composed of minor combatants, & sent a trio of the USN DDs in a SurfTF at the same time. both TFs were set to full-speed, but I couldn't be sure that the SurfTF would arrive before the BombTF.

Since moonlight was high, & add'l CAs were close to finishing refit at Singers, I felt it was low-risk to put the BombTF on Absolute.
