I've owned this game for about a year and I'm having some problems understanding what level to set my supplies for Corps and construction units.

1) You can set supply from 1 to 9. So, what's the best level for these units while on the offensive and what for defense. And, do you even bother with the highest or lowest numbers?

2) Will setting the supply for construction units at 8 or 9 make them repair more track per turn?

3) How do I find the combat radius of my air units so I can figure out how many hexes away from the front lines I can put them.

I am currently playing against the AI as Germany.

1. I have never seen anyone bother, but I can see how that needs some looking into.

2. NO

3. I put fighters 5 hexes back and bombers a few hexes behind that. As Germany you do not want to spread your air power around much

I think it is not supply level but support unit level for HQ, meaning how much of them of different kind would be attached automatically to HQ.You can not change supply rate anywhere, you can adjust your TOE, putting it to 50%.This will not let reinforcements come to your unit as a result less troops less supply needed. And supply usually depends on many factors.

Hmmm... small point, AC range/10 is hexes for range.

Agree, of course, that "supply" number is really support units allowed by type. Support units range from field labor to special AFVs or specialized infantry groups. Personally, I like to get specific support units assigned to combat units to pin down what support is comitted.

TOE is important as it controls the maximum possible strength of a combat token. But, there's a lot of issues in using TOE to create super units, e.g., strengthen some, weaken others. It takes time to see TOE variance realized.

I play balanced forces and seek combat all along the fronts. In a short game I use 100% uniformly, but longer game, 75% to create strategic reserves.

Would like to hear other approaches. Any?
