here's the procedure I think I should use (advice welcome): - create new parallel install from CD, upgrade it to the same beta as my current game, alter shortcuts as req'd. - rape the new install of unnecessary files (scenarios, soundFX, video) - copy my current game scenario & its latest savegame to the new install - ensure the new install uses the same data files (such as maps and pwhexe.dat) then: - use the Scenario Editor to vastly reduce the game-play area of my current scenario in this 2nd install so that it includes only the area I want to test (say I want to test B-29 strat-bombers based around Shanghai, attacking targets in Korea & Kyushu, I'll revise the gameplay area to a small box that includes these bases). Then save this 'reduced' thing to the 2nd-install scenario directory. - open the 2nd install, load the 'reduced' scenario & play a bunch of turns, mebbe 16 or 24. Assuming I've got the initial procedure right, how do I proceed w/ 'sandbox' turn-play, how should I alter the game-prefs to run a turn-sequence as quickly as possible, can I set the thing to run a specified # of turns, what else do I need to do?
