I am currently reading "Fire in the Sky: The Air War in the South Pacific" by Eric Bergerud. There are a ton of quotes contained within this from Joe Foss.

Sorry to hear that he passed away.

PS. Even though I haven't finished the book yet, I would recommend it to all who want to know more background information regarding the goings on of UV.

They did a special report on one of the major networks about the sad state of military funerals for WW2 Vets. I wish I remembered the exact figure they gave, so don't flame me if I am wrong. They said that WW2 vets are dying at a rate of over 1000 a day (actually I think it was 1800, but I am being conservative). Again the number is not accurate, but I almost dropped my glass when I heard the number.

And in 25 years or so they will be saying the same thing about Vietnam veterans.;)
