Hello everyone! I just recently purchased StarDrive on Steam and was discussing with some other players of that game about how I felt that the game lacked..depth, as far as diplomacy and alliances and galaxy size and length of games etc. Almost all of the people on Steam pointed me to this game, so for the past couple of days I have been doing my research, reading various player reviews and watching hours of lets plays of the game. Truth be told, I watched some lets plays of Vanilla DW and felt intimidated, but some videos of Legends made me feel a bit better about considering buying the game here soon. One thing that I wanted to question everyone about, well, a couple things, involved diplomacy and length of the games. 1) How deep can the diplomacy really get? I have seen where you can have the basic trade agreements and defense agreements down to the intricate refueling agreements and such, but I was curious about the idea of 'Federations' or something of a group of empires banding together to make a joint union/joint government, one where policies are voted on and member empires can apply for membership or leave the federation at will. Does this game feature something like this or has anyone talked about this idea before? 2) Sandbox gameplay..I'm a huge fan of it and I am very much against 'victory conditions'. I know that you can remove all victory conditions but I was curious about the AI behavior when they are removed...does the AI in fact act differently? An example would be if you are trying for a 50% territory control victory, everyone else might be more aggressive due to also wanting this goal, whereas in a sandbox they might be happy with just self preservation, survival and keeping the peace as long as you aren't overly aggressive towards them or do something to piss them off intentionally. I suppose what I'm looking for answers to are questions or topics that would turn the game from a 4x strategy game into a bonafide galactic governmental simulation. Many of the things I would want are already in place with this game, but I am curious as to just HOW much this game would fulfill my wishes.
